alright, everyone here told me to swap in a D60 instead of a HP44 front
well anyway, i got a price quote on a custom built axles:
************************************************** **
HPD44 will run $2200
Includes bead blasted housing, alloy inners, set up for high steer, new ball joints and lockouts and a trac lock posi, alloy u-joints and flat tops, whatever ratio.new calipers and pads,
**************************************************
**Front D60 High Pinion (Driver or Passenger) Full width, 35 spline inners, 30
spline outers, Warn Lockouts, all new center with whatever ratio, bead
blasted and painted housing, Track Lock posi, new calipers and pads,
king pin kits, Spicer alloy axle joints, and 6 month unlimited mile warranty
for $2960!
************************************************
optional
$650 for TJ brakets, (i have a junked D30 housing to use as a template for some dumb brackets.)
$128 for the BTF cover
$0 for the spool
+ ship
*********************************************
i think the prices seemed pretty good. looks like about $800 more than i could assemble it for since i would need to pay $250 for gear install
i mean the D60 would be alot stronger, but what will i be getting into as far as drivability on the street with such a heavy ass axle. and what size meats would i need to run to justify it (38's) ? if i went D60 i would probably put in a ff 14bolt rear, they are only about $100-$150.
if i went hp44 i would keep my D44 rear + wheel adapter to switch pattern and add 2-5" to WMS (35-36" tars)
