NocalJR on JU has his front bilstein 7100s mounted on his LCAs... kinda trick but unless you really need that kind of freakish wheel travel then I would leave the shock in the stock position. Also you loose alot of road manners mouting the shocks elsewhere.

the stock lower mount is not there anymore. not really looking for any extra travel. it just looks like the easiest place to mount one, and im in the "just get it finished" mode. how would moving it from the axle tube the the control arm affect road manners? if you keep valving in mind, i dont see a big difference. im using clayton las so i think the arms would be strong enough.

it's all in the leverage... the shock is more efficient on the axle than it is on the CA because on the CA, the extra length of arm creates leverage... lol you're going to need to find somebody that knows the vocabulary to explain this one

You lose a little shock efficience but the arms themselves are pleanty strong. I would not hesitate to mount them on the arms.

I've been thinking about it, I figure I could get another 1.5" of travel up front by ditching the upper shock conversion, BPE's, and doing that...

yeah thats NorthernZJ's right? I remembered that last week and decided I was going to do it. My BPEs somehow disapeared. They are welded in right now =D

pretty slick, but i would have mounted the shock with the pivot parrellel with the arm, not perpendicular.

I plasma cut some Tabs, like the pics above and installed NorCalJrs almost the exact same.

Im curious to why GOOF lol says "Also you loose alot of road manners mouting the shocks elsewhere."

His ZJ didnt loose any manners because of the mounting location, rather shitty shocks FYI those 9100's are SOFT as hell.
