I'm just woundering if anyone has had problems with mounting to the subframe.
as far as crumpling issues, im going to plate it but were the plating ends im thinking enough bashing into rocks might fatige the frame couse cracking or crumpling?????

that's just the problem with the paperthin sheet they use to build our uniframes.... if you run a few inches of plating on either side of the frame "ply", it will be about as strong as you can hope for. you could always just sleeve the entire rail with U channel, and mount it to that...

its all about surface area. keep the ends of your bumper mount brackets as large as possible to spread out the load it will see in an impact situation.

i just ripped the bumper subframe off so i could slide channel into the frame and im going to sandwitch it with plate.
would be nice if i could tie it into the long arm setup....... to much work though.
seems like im always hitting rocks, i have the smallest rig in the group and turning back just dosent seem to be an option.
thanks for the idea, figure if i do it right i only have to do it once.
