Permatex® Aviation
Form-A-Gasket® No. 3 Sealant
Slow-drying, non-hardening brush-top
sealant approved for use in aviation as well
as automotive applications. Temperature
range -65°F to 400°F; resists gasoline,
oil and grease.

I used this stuff all the time for carbs. Worked great for the pump on my oil furnace. The consistency is between honey and syrup. It's very sticky stuff. I also used it to seal the guage in the fuel oil tank for the furnace. Will not leak in gas, diesel, fuel oil, kerosene, etc. And finally, I used this stuff before to seal a leaking gooseneck on an '84 Chrysler's gas tank. That was a steel tank, but I know this stuff works on plastic too. Ya just gotta give it some time to dry.
