I may be needing a new front driveshaft after my little mishap. I know I could pull one from an XJ for $11.14. But are they the same as ZJ ones? 94 ZJ, NP242.

mine has a double cardan at the top and a single 1310 joint at the bottom. I can get compressed/expanded measurements if you want as mine is out right now

Yes. That would help if you could get those measurements. Anyone have the same measurements for the ZJ shaft available?

All I know is the distance I measured for my custom shaft. 31.5 inches.

I have my front and rear out if you want me to measure them...

I do know that when i swapped my np231 in, i had the DS's out of the xj i pulled the case from (95 4.0l auto). Both the front and rear DS were at least 2-3" shorter than my ZJ shafts.

Yup, if I recall correctly, my brothers XJ shafts were a bit shorter than my ZJ's too.

You can get them lenghthened though!

Well looks like the XJ shaft is out. That is unless I find a place in Atlanta that lengthens driveshafts well. Haven't heard of one ever. Anybody know of one? Too bad there aren't any ZJs in the junkyards either.

No local driveline shops? There's places around here that'll lenghthen a shaft (good work) for $50 including balance, ask around!

Thanks LAZJ.

I think I may try my damndest to find a local driveline shop and also heed Kraqa's advice and pull a driveshaft from a big old Ford and have them shorten it. It will be nice.
