Finally got the ZJ to handle highway speeds without shaking its ass like some hoochie in Girls Gone Wild. It's not a roll cage, and would absolutely not be relied upon as a roll cage, but it's kinda built like one from the c-pillar back. I used 1"x1" box tube. It's pretty hard to describe, but I'll get some pics tomorrow after I paint over Corey's ugly ass welds!

How close is the tube to the rear passenger's heads? And just so I know when I do my trimming, where did the wire harnes go or where did it come from in picture 5?

Chad, all those wires came from the liftgate area. IIRC, it ran along the D-pillar somewhere, and then along the back of the roof and then into the liftgate. No clue what most of them are for, but they're easy to get out before cutting it up. As far the rear passengers, I'm not too concerned cuz I rarely have rear passengers, but it LOOKS like it would be okay. I sure as shit wouldn't want to hit my head on one of those bolts though.

i'd hate to be riding in the back seat and hit my head on those bolts. but i like it.

did you just use bulb seal to cover the top of the rear windows where they were trimmed?

I'm assuming you mean what actually was the bottom of the rear windows and is now technically the "bed" of the Jeep? There's a pinch seam there that I just left alone and took the remaining weatherstripping from the liftgate and put it over the pinch seam so it was smooth padded edge rather than a pointy hard edge. Haven't figured out yet what exactly I'm going to do with the back end of it yet, so it's basically going to stay that way for now. The D-pillar is still open too, didn't cap that off like I did the roof, because my top two options right now involve no more d-pillar.

Looks nice .. Are you going to replace it with a cage one day or just cage the inside and leave that alone??

It will most definately be replaced with a full cage as soon as possible. When I do the cage I will also finalize whatever it is I end up doing with the rear end, whether it be bobbing it or dovetailing it.

Yep, the wires run up and over. I found that out the hard way :(
