how much smaller in dia. can you go before you run into problems? stuff like blown lines, seals, brakes not working or locking up?

Why do you want to go smaller in diameter?

pressure maybe?? seem sstupid to me. use the same size lines as you MC or maybe a bit bigger for the rear cause you have a splitter on it. but generally use the same size as your MC.

well i can get the parts to build universal dot brake line for bikes at dealer cost. any length from 6" up 2 5ft ssline and any kind if banjo fitting, but the line has a smaller inside dia. i didnt know if the increase in pressure would cause problems or not.

I wouldn't do it. Spend the money to do the job right. Brakes are something you don't want to cut corners on.

the inside dia is not 3/16. the inside dia is a lot smaller than 3/16. maybe you need to look at yours. these are russell lines not some cheapo aftermarket. i am not doing it to save money. even at dealer cost the price would be about the same. it is easier for me to make a set (for the rear disk) than running around to all the part stores trying to find them.

3/16" is mearly a sizing gauge to relate the diameter of the line for standardized issuing. Base what you have off the inside diameter of a 3/16's line...if its the same, then your fine. i just wouldnt go smaller than that.

3/16" lines are pritty much a industry standard except for the heavier vehicles.

3/16 is the outside dia. both lines are 3/16 outside. so if im going by outside they will work. im talking about inside. i did some measuring and the holes in the fitting ( both ss auto and ss bike) are the same size. the inside dia. is 1mm smaller on the bike than on the auto. i think im gonna try it. if i do i will let you know.
