Alright tired of my stock intake.... Tried almost every option under my hood to hide it from mud. Now I know I need outside air!

I have read up on NAGCA's ZJ snorkel and yea thats cool but where I wheel (Badlands, Pitsfield, and the cliffs) have some Tight areas and akward mud pits that have ripped off many fender mount snorkels. Was thinking about my hood... Kinda a shaker hood style reverse mount but with my L6 its Has no where to go through my hood except right above the driver.

My heard hurts this week because I am thinkin wayyyy to hard about it and my TJ, Xj buddies are not helping... ANy ideas from you guys? Or even better PICS!

He wants something similar to a snorkel, but that doesn't come out the side so it can get ripped off.... not a FIPK setup.

Plastic hose up to filter on roof only when needed.

right now I'm not sure if I'm more worried of the air intake or the breather for my tranny...

Higher? If you ford water deep enough to get in that intake you have bigger problems.

I will say without a doubt Alaskan Trails have the deepest and most severe water crossings. Seiously. I have forded water that came in my windows. The ass end of a ZJ will float. and that intake was never a problem.

Oh and the UP pipe is removable.....it is ugly. but it works.

I've had water up over the hood before and the worst of it was the coil waterlogged and shut the motor off. Luckily my intake is pretty high and sucked no water.
