I remember hearing about people complaining about these things wearing out. I just picked up a set of rears, and the flex joint doesn't looked lubricated. Neither does the JJ on the HD trackbar....Are these things supposed to be like this or should I take them apart and stick a whole bunch of synthetic grease in there?

fyi they do have a grease zerk near the flex joint on all of mine.

are these new or an older model?

if a grease fitting is not present i would see if you could drill and tap a grease zerk into the bushing end if you decide to disassemble the joint

I just got some adjustable rear uppers a couple months ago and they had a zerk fitting. They are greased when you get them too.

The Grease is to keep water and dust out of them. Also helps keep them quiet.

But the Teflon Races are self lubricating. So if you can deal with the clunk then the joints can too....

A rebuild kit for them is like 9 bucks.

I've got a can of aerosol white lithium grease that I just spray into them.

cool. zerks weren't attached and i didn't look at them too closely. I'll just leave 'em be and grease them up every 3000mi....
