what is the advantage of an exo over an internal cage? I've only seen an exo look good on a few rigs and most of you arent worried about sheetmetal damage so what gives?

I have seen pictures of a few cages but they just don't look right. This design looks like you will still crush the A piller in a roll over.

That is big span of tubing from A-pillar to rear door just to make the rear doors accessable.

not the A but the B pillar. most fo the time people don't use a bar to protect the B pillar because of the rear door. it is dificult to get the bend right so both doors can open.

the advantage of a EXO more interior room. i guess bragging rights. i happen to like the jungle gym. and i plan on doing something similar except with less ZJ shhet metal.

I normally don't like exo cages. But there are some things that I do like about the Schaffers Offroad design.

That said, anyone giving any thought to having a cage (internal or external) without proper B pillar protection needs to take a look at the rollover damage on my 2001 WJ.

First thing my WJ rolled into was a good-sized tree ... right at the point where the B pillar meets the roof. I may be wrong. But I believe that the Schaffer Offroad design would have been absolutely useless in that situation.

If you are talking about my 2001 WJ ... that's what I told the guy who bought it from me ... after I took all the good stuff off it for my 2002. :D :D :D
