Holy crap I'm exhausted. We got up at the buttcrack of dawn this morning and went up to HC. BEAUTIFUL up there earlier in the day, colors were awesome. The morning went really well, except for me getting pulled over for expired tags, d'oh! Corey managed to snap BOTH rear shocks within a couple hundred yards of each other. Turns out they were his limiting straps too, which led to cool things like this:

We made it though French Creek pretty easily, I hung my diff on a rock and needed a strap, but that was the only issue.

We made it up to the city by 12:30 and were stoked at the great time we were making. We figured we'd hang out up there for a while until most everybody else was up there so we weren't fighting traffic going back down. Cristi decides to head up to Cleveland Rock, and went right up it. Then she went to turn around at the top and KAPOW!!! Snaps the mounting ears on the steering box! So much for our making good time . . . . . .

So we pulled the steering box off my ZJ, took it back to Cristi's ZJ, switched a bunch of other stuff (pump, pitman arm) and took Cristi's ZJ back to the trailhead, pulled the box back off, and came back up and put it back on my ZJ.

I think we headed back down from the city around 8 or 9pm, I can't fawking remember anymore, lol. But night wheeling at Holy Cross is sweet! I crunched my front passenger door coming back through the creek, but oh well, it's only sheet metal.

There were many more minor occurences throughout the day, but I'm entirely too exhausted to type much more.

Here's the rest of the pics:

It was kinda 6 in one, half dozen in the other. Also, Cristi's rig was up above Cleveland Rock, and we didn't really want to go waaaaay up there possibly in the dark, and she was kinda in the trail I guess. I was a little more prepared warm clothing wise too, and wasn't too creeped out at the possibility of spending the night up at the City.

Maybe if you wheeled your Jeep, you could have been there to find out!

Sounds like a hellova trip. Glad you guys made it back in piece. Great Flex on the Chalupa. It looks like the spring is streched out like from a ball point pen.
