Just to document the build and such, and because Im bored out of my mind, here is what Ive done to my Heep. Lemme know if you have questions.

Jeep's Original Form: 30x9.5 Geolanders, K&N Homemade Intake, Flowmaster muffler. After my first wheeling in the ZJ I decided to keep it and lift it.

Decided to go with a 5" lift JKS short arm kit but found a great deal on some 33" MT/Rs and had to sell my old tires. So got a 2" BB to temporarily fit the 33s. I ended up running like this for quite awhile.

However, before I could install the 5" short arm kit, my friend decided to buy a built ZJ with Claytons, swapped axles, t-case, winch, armor all on 35s. After we drove it back from halfway across the country, I had to have Claytons, I wasnt going to compromise. I did a HP30 and Ford 8.8 swap at the same time I installed Claytons. Then ran the BB on the RE 4.5" springs.

However, that setup just wasn't working for me. I was satisfied with the steering choices out there and considering I wanted to eventually do 37s, I ended up going straight to the HP44/9". It was a lot of work and I ran into a lot of snags. However, if I didnt try to do the swap, I would not have got my baby:

Looks nice man!

You're in the short rows now, keep up the good work....

Any ideas for your bumpers?

Looks Good For a Liberal Hippy.

Considering thats probably the best compliment Ive recieved from Alaska, Ill take it! And anyways, how many liberal hippies do you see driving around in gas guzzling, environment destroying, obnoxious offroad vehicles?

This weekend the whole heep gets mutilated. Didnt get to trimming anything last week so Im going crazy this weekend. Welding in the rockers too (copying Alaska) and maybe a super quick front bumper like the Chalupas.

As far as my eventual bumpers, Ive already got a design but I gave up trying to convert it to a webside viewable format. I like to describe it like my ideal pair of breasts: I want something to be there, you know, gotta have something to grab ahold of and pull on. But there cant be anything extraneous, you know? Nothing that sticks out too much or nothing thats going to get in the way. Just big enough to provide all the satisfaction and function I need while still being low profile enough and out of the way. :D

Im cutting the grill to move the HS9500 back as far as I can. The rear will pretty much be a copy of Kraqa's, if he doesnt mind; I really like his. Nothing to special, just that Im going to build them as light as possible. I mainly want some deflection and minor protection, I dont mind if it gets dented and destroyed. My rig already weighs too much and I dont plan on cutting much of the body out when I do the cage. The only thing I might do is try to make it so I could eventually add a winch to the rear bumper, that always seemed like a cool idea.

PS, if anyone is interested, my next big project after the bumpers is a cage. But while Im doing the cage I want to cut out the rear wheel wells and then weld up some larger versions so I can get a lot more stuffage. I also want to go ahead and make some rear shock hoops because eventually I am doing coilovers (simply because I can). I want to keep the shocks as vertical as possible. The main reason for the cutout is I'd like a LOT more uptravel. I'd rather have uptravel then droop.

Looks really good, I guess liberals can do one or two things right!

But since you're a liberal hippy and I'm a right winged nutcase, better be good in this thread 8)

Yes, Ill make sure to with hold any liberal outbursts. :D

My housemate's girlfriend is totally left wing and pro environment and has all these pro environment anti-suv bumpstickers that shes going to give me.. Stickers like "Ban 4Wheeling", or "Save the Air", "Slash SUV Tires" or my favorite..."I [heart] the Sierra Club". I cant wait.

It's nice to know that you're doing such a great job of informing such people as your roomates girlfriend that 4 wheeling isn't the end of the world, and teaching against such common misconceptions... :hint hint:

Well, Ive got tranny issues. If I need a new tranny, Project Gold Bling Bling is done for me. Im out. Im sick of building a ZJ that I no longer want. If the tranny can be repaired or fixed for cheap Ill keep it.

I just cant handle spending all this time and money on suspension and axles and shit and then have the transmission take a crap on me. I just got it rebuilt 30k ago.

I can no longer justify keeping the thing if anymore shit starts to go wrong. I already need a new intake manifold.

Its been a long fucking annoying and expensive road, but I am once and for all done with the jeep. sold it today, getting picked up next week. Local too, so hopefully youll see it being used on this website sooner or later. It has big plans that I was never able to attain, Im excited for it.

Closing the book. Lost thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars, but damn did I learn a shitload. I mean a shitload. Bought a 1980 Yota and I have a daily driver as well and now Im able to concentrate more on the things I love (like girls and bicycles and money). Since there is a non-Jeep section on this website, you unfortunetly will still have to deal with my leftist hippy ass once in awhile. good luck to all.

PS. I might actually post some wheeling pics now...what a concept eh?
