Has anyone cut through the seatbacks for a set of shoulder harnesses? I am concerned that I'll won't be able to get a belt "through" the seat because of some member. Anyone had a seat back apart?

can't help you but your cage is fawkin sweet. i would give it a try. it might be hard to work the belt throught the metal innr workings of those seats but i bet you could find one cheep seat that has been wqrecked in a ccident and cut it apart for an experiment.

Why do I find inspiration in a picture of a perfectly good bucket seat that is cut with a sawsall?

Good Show.

I think thats going to hurt really bad if you roll. Those soft seats compress, then rebound upon impact causing a whiplash effect. From the information I gathered, it can almost do more harm than good adding those kind of belts to a soft seat like that. I would love to have my stock seats back, but I'd rather not break my back....

But I'm not trying to be a spoil-sport--if you havn't seen chad's cage in person, it is way bitchin. Even if it is pink.

I can't wait to get another shot at rolling you :D

I promise you your poly buckets will do that for you. My money will be going towards these in a few months

Compartively my 10 year old seats do not compress more than a good set of suspension seats from Beard or PRP.

I am doing research on pirate for a cage, for my ZJ... and I came across this:

There was a lenghty cage design discussion last fall on ORC and the consensus was that for a four point or five point harness, the top belts should be anchored approx. two inches above shoulder height.
This is because (I believe it was sprint cars) too many drivers were getting broken collar bones if the upper harness was anchored below the top of the shoulder.

Dunno if it is acurate... just FYI.

yes hurd that same thing. think about it as you slow down (in high speed) the shoulder belts will tighten and if they are mounted below you then they force your shoulders downward, i'v also hurt of it seriously affecting vertibray ?spelling?

With my tall ass in the seats, the belts are about 8 degrees below my shoulder.
