Here is a photo of the final product. The steel wheel ring is welded to the outside of the wheel rim. Easy install if you have a welder.

What about the top rings for sandwiching and bolts (size and threads)? I assume for $30 you don't get all that...?

There is an industrial hardware supply store across the street from me. I can get the 144 3/8 bolts needed to sandwitch 4 wheel rings. However, I didn't want to put a price on the cost of the bolts. It is subject to alot of variation depending on what they have in stock and how many I purchase.

My cost of production is just under $30 per ring so I might make $20 bucks on an order of 10 rings. I don't have the capital to order large numbers and keep them in stock so I've got to start somewhere. I'm really just hoping to be able to produce these and other items I'm working on in order to pay shop rent and pass a good deal along to other 4x4 guys. Similar products out there go for $80 bucks for 2 rings and the 32 bolts for one wheel.

Same question as Risko, what about the top ring? Do you need 2 rings for each wheel? How about centering the wheel on the locks? Lastly, can you make rings for 16" and 17" rims?

The top and bottom ring are the same part. You just need two rings per wheel. An inner ring and an outer ring to sandwitch it. It takes 32 3/8 bolts per wheel. Hardware is around $35 for enough to do 4 wheels.

16s and 17s are the same but with a larger ring. Pretty much anything goes as long as the wheel is steel. The cost on a larger ring is a little more however.

These rings are also nice due to the fact that they actually make the rim size greater in width. You could clean up a set of junkyard steel ford truck rims and weld these locks to the outside for a D44/9 inch swap if need be. The jump in width is about 2 inches.

Have you thought of offering a anti-coning ring as well? I would be interested in a set if you did.

Those look aweful thick for anything but a SX or some shit like that but you get the idea.

I would also prefer if they fit on the rim like this.

The inner ring sits on the inside of the rim, sort of centering itself.

Oh and for reference and credit. SnowTrooper from PBB took those pictures and those are Lonfield Beadlocks.

hey alaska does that ring just fit inside the lip and then weld on?? so the tire will actually mount outside of the rim? that singeniouse. or maybe i'm dumb.

Yep you can still mount the tire "normal". or leave it on the outside and mount it with the other plate making a "Beadlock"

I think it is a great idea and it doesn't add near the width that the Rockstomper type does.

Yeah, I can do something like that. I'm willing to make whatever you need work for your application. Email me if at info@rockcontrol.com if you want something custom.

where do you get those rings for that price?

I'm working on manufacturing these through my business. There isn't much to a wheel lock like this and I knew I liked the look of 32 bolts for a 15 inch rim. They are cut on a CNC waterjet.

FWIW, I have the longfield beadlocks picture and the installation was easy. I'll see how they work in August...

SwampBoy, you can email me at info@rockcontol.com to order. Also, if anybody else wants something that I can cut on the waterjet let me know. I've got a tab for almost anything, DIY rocker guard replacement kits, axle side spring mounts, long arm parts, etc. I can work better deals on group orders of stuff and I'll give people from this board the best prices! Sorry this really should go in the vendor forum. I'll post over there with some photos of stuff when I get a chance. I'm hoping to fire up and drive my ZJ buggy in the next day or two! YEAH!

Thanks
Ty
