Had lunch with DaJudge and Tiffster today and we talked about heading up to Twin Cone this Sunday. Al hasn't been out in a while, and Clank has never seen a trail, so we figured Twin Cone would be a good place to start. No clue on meeting place or time yet, but figured I'd give everyone a heads up.

Dave

Twin Cone sounds good to me. As an alternate idea how about Red Cone. Scott and I were talking about doing Red Cone on Sunday and maybe doing Radical Hill too. I wouldnt mind a long day of it since I have not wheeled since GSW. I finally have all the shocks and the exhaust done.

Keith/Dave,

I'm up for Red Cone and Radical Hill. Make it a loooooong day, yeah.

We could start in Keystone, do Wild Irish Man, Radaical Hill, Red Cone, then back to Keystone.
What do you think?

I'd rather keep it a short day personally. Making a long day out of easy trails drains me pretty quick. Keith and I were talking and thinking that we would run Twin Cone, and then if people wanted to make it a longer day they could head over to Red Cone. The other people I'm going with would like a short day as well. A couple untested rigs, a wife who will be fresh out of a neck brace, and a bunch of kids, lol.

Yea it depends on how early everyone wants to leave. I prefer early like 8 or 9am. I am up for a long day myselft. By the way it is my opinion that Red Cone and Radical Hill are more challenging than Twin Cone. The trails that link to them are not ofcourse like Webster and Wild Irishman. If we do Twin Cone first we can then take 285 to link to Hardcart towards Redcone then run up Radical hill and back down if we have time. Then depending on where you live some can take webster to Keystone and then to 70 or for me take webster to 285. I am open either way.

Here we go:

Meet in Grant at 10am. We could be done with the trail anytime between 1 and 4ish, so I would think Red Cone would still be a possibility afterwards.

That link doesn't work and I couldn't find anything on that message board about the run. Hmmm, it's like an Easter Egg hunt, finding info about the trail run.

D'oh!! Forgot that Tiff has it set up a little differently on her site where you have to be in a special group to view that forum.

I'll copy and paste.

SWMBO's surgeon grounded her from off-roading for 3 more months, but she gave me a kitchen pass for Sunday. I suggest we meet at Twin Spruce Cafe in Grant at 10 AM. Depart for the trail at 10:15. CB channel 14. I am also posting this on Colorado4x4 Staging Area.

There ya have it!

Well, from what I can tell by people who have kids, shouldn't you be talking about having lunch at 9:00am? I mean, aren't they usually up for several hours by then?

They only get up early when they know their parents want to sleep in. If they know you want to get up early they want to sleep in. I know it is amazing but true. :?

When they get older they sleep in. You can make 'em sleep in by going on hikes, bike rides, skiing, digging holes.....wear 'em out.

Maybe you should have a few and join the club. :D

Hey John, we do have kids, and guess what, they wake ME up early.

The only difference is they're kind of hairy and walk on all fours :D

Great day, except for Dave's motor mount. Maybe the spool takes it's toll.

I hope Keith posts some pics of me. I had to pull a very large rig over an obstacle. Are there any H2 Recovery Team stickers available? :D

Ooooooh, did Adam get hung up?

I really doubt it's the spool causing my motor mount issues though. I think it's my tranny mount shot.

It wasn't the black H2 it was the silver/gray one. After I got him free, I drove back up the trail to take the same line. The black H2 owner, said, what are you nuts, after the other H2 got stuck. Keith and I both made it through with some careful tire placement. It was sweet!

I will post the pics of John pulling out Goliath later in the week. I was called out of town yesterday and should have them posted on Thursday at the latest when I get back.

It was a beautiful thing to watch.
