I have seen manual locking hubs on a WJ before and I am trying to find out if it was for the 5x5 bolt pattern or a 5x4.5 pattern. Does anyone know anything about this? I saw locking hubs the big white WJ that had the coilover suspention lift on it, and there was another one too but I forget whatit looked like. Any help is great.

You can get them in either style. 5.5 or 4.5. the 4.5 uses Ford Range Plastic shit. the 5.5 uses Metal Ford parts.

Go with the 5.5 if your gonna do it and run an adapter or redril for a newpattern on the rear. I have seen those little ranger parts break easy.

Post up some part numbers and or pictures for this thread. That way it is more than just a question in the archives. Thanks.

that wj (rj's) had a dana 44 (or 60) with manual hubs, not stock axles

That will suck because then I will have to get all new wheels or go and redrill rotors and thats just a PITA.

put in some real axles anyways, then hubs are easy

yeah seriously. for the amount it costs to convert something to hubs you could have yourself a high pinion dana 44 with cash left over.

Can I just get CJ knuckles and hubs and rotors and be able to use locking hubs then?

no, the C doesn't fit.

But you could take the inner C out and swap all of that. Don't think it is what you are looking for though.

Billavista did some kind of crazy ass hub conversion to his old XJ....I have no idea where it went though. I can't find it.

My Bro is running the Warn hub conversion in his ZJ and it has held up pretty damn well.. I was expecting the plastic crap to break easily!

ah yes, Crown in the Hizzy!!

i had the warn 5x4.5 kit and it held up to 35" mtrs and a few ujoints and axle shafts. i got a killer deal on the kit used or i wouldn't have bought it. trying to polish the 30 by adding hubs that shouldn't be there is a waste. get a 44 from a waggy or ford and be done with it. or don't worry about hubs. why do you think you need them? you gonna run a detroit up front?

Yeah, my brother traded a rusty steering conv. for it.. Well worth the 2 bills.

I want the hubs to eliminate the ratchet sound from the front and to help with close steering driveability. So when you swap axles then you have to cut off all of the mount point for my control arms and spring seats and weld them on the new?

Actually its a sunray ford 9" front and dana 60 rear. I remember checking it out when I was in NC while it was being built.
