Has anyone seen anybody running this combo? I saw it behind an Atlas, but there isn't much of a comparison. I'm wondering if the 231 is strong enough behind the 318.

Honestly.....it probably is. If you do the HD chain and such.

BUT. You put some serious stress on that 231 with the Klune reduction prior to the 231.

Why not look into other doubler ideas? Or single Tcase Ideas?

Flipp a D300 and put a 4:1 kit in it. Cheaper that a Klune.

Do like me and explore 203/whatever doublers?

Lots of option but I really would not want to trust a 231 behind a 318 and a Klune reduction. I could see BOOM happening.

Remember that with a buggy, your gonna hit stuff SO much harder than you ever did in a full body. I mean to be totally honest, Golden Spike didn't even really pose much challenge for the chuggy and for full bodied rigs there were a few spots I watched people suck a little cushion.

If your in a time and money crunch just run a straight 231.

Why is that super tits? You get 1:1 and 4:1, that's it. The point of the Klune and dual cases is that you can get even better crawl ratios, but also have a wider range of ratios to choose from, and can have several different low range options. Now wouldn't it be super tits to have 1:1, 2.72:1, and even steeper stuff. I'm too lazy to do the math for you, but go here:

Read up on it, and THEN tell us that the 241OR is tits. And by the time you buy a 241OR you might as well just buy an Atlas and get a MUCH better case.

Why, because you just got ripped off like a bitch? Why spend that much on a chain driven case when Atlas's can be had for 1600-1800 new?

At any rate, you're swapping axles right? Find a chevy or dodge front 60 (cheaper than fords), get a d300, with 4:1 gears, and you don't have to worry about flipping it.

Although I don't know if that will bolt up to the tranny.

Alaska's little project is pretty slick, I would do that or an atlas before I would start messing with Klunes.

I am considering using a Chebby front to save myself the hassle of making the 300 shifters. Just a PIA to do yourself of spendy to buy the kit.

To bad North Dakota has NO d60's in it....fuckin state.
