"1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, originally a 4.0, 42Re, 249 Jeep
- Fresh 5.2 V8, and trans swap. Both with 70K miles (from a 1996 Jeep ZJ)
- Body has 145K miles on it
- Completely street legal DD and weekend warrior
- Gold limited package complete with leather, heated mirrors, electric everything, moon roof, auto climate control, auto dimming mirrors, etc.
- Brand new trans oil cooler lines, transmission service (filter and fluid with band adjustments), motor mounts, trans cross member mount, AC system, radiator, cruise control vac canister, and water pump to name a few.

The ZJ has a ton of modifications done to it but all have been done to enhance the off-road capabilities of the rig as well as the on-road functionality. It has a 6" hybrid suspension system composed of Clayton's Long Arms, Rubicon Express 4.5" coil springs, spacers, brake lines, monotube shocks, Gen II quick disconnects and Kevins/JKS off-road trac-bar conversion. The suspension utilizes a 5 link up front and a triangulated 4 link rear with a truss. Recently (last October 2008 ) finished up Grand Wagoneer Iron 44 swap front and rear. The front axle utilizes a TnT truss system as well as front and rear bracket kits from TnT. Both front and rear axles use Ballistic Fabrication coil spring retainers with JKS adjustable bump stops up front with Rubicon Express bump stops out back and Kevins off-road coil bump stop extensions.

The front axle uses PartsMike.com one ton steering conversion and both axles were completely rebuilt inside and out last October. There is also a brand new (October) Jeep Grand Wagoneer steering gear that helps turn the 35" tires. The only things used from the 1987 FSJ axles were the housings themselves and the knuckles. Both axles have Yukon 4.88 gears and the front has an Aussie locker in it. The front axle has Warn Premium Lockout hubs on it and both axles are 6 bolt (6x5.5") spacing. The rear axle has a TSM (The Streetrod Manufacturing) disc brake conversion with new rotors and Cadillac El Dorado rear calipers with e-brake setup. It has new e-brake cables from controlcables.com. The Jeep has both sway bars front and rear connected for stability on the road. The Jeep also has all the factory skid plates ZJ's came with as well as SOLID differential covers front and rear. The rear axle has custom Dutchman Chromoly axle shafts with big bearings. The rear also has Spidertrax wheel spacers to help space the rear axle out properly.

The Jeep rolls on 15x10 6x5.5" wheels with a 3.75" back spacing. The wheels are Crager street locks and have brand new 35x12.50x15 BFGoodrich KM2's. There are five matching wheels and tires including a brand new spare. The Jeep has a fresh NP231 swap with an Advanced Adapters SYE Kit with Tom Woods HD front and rear driveshafts with the extra slip and Super Gold Joints. The Jeep also has an electric fan mounted up front (not in pictures) to help push air into the engine bay while trail riding. It also has Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 hood vents and drip pans with matching 5.9 grille to help with looks and cooling. All fluids are changed regularly and both differentials, trans, engine, and tcase were drained and filled up with new fluids a few months ago.

Motor: Semi Synthetic 10w-40 with K&N Gold Filter
Trans: Mopar ATF+4
Tcase: Mopar ATF+4, or Royal Purple
Axles: Castrol 80-90w gear oil

The front of the ZJ has an ARB bull bar with custom Hella turn signals and high intensity fog lights wired to the factory switch. The front bumper houses a new Warn M8000 winch that is wired up and ready. It also has Warn D-Ring shackles. Under the hood there is a new battery with a K&N intake. The exhaust is composed of new O2 sensors, magnaflow hi-flow catalytic converter, Flowmaster Hushpower II muffler and a turn down. The interior is relatively stock except for a Cobra CB and a Pioneer head unit. There are newer Infinity Gold speakers and amp installed in the ZJ. The rear of the ZJ has a Kevins Off-Road Stealth rear bumper and tire carrier that holds a Firestik CB antenna and bracket as well as a Hi-Lift and an AEV license plate kit. The Jeep also has JKS SuperNerf's for rocker protection. The rear bumper has two D-Ring shackles as well."

Jeep has been de-badged, has no stickers, and currently has the front set of a Bushwacker fender flare kit installed. Got too cold to finish the back.

Please PM me if you have any further questions or requests. I am located in North Western NJ. The vehicle currently has a valid PA inspection... would take a little tweaking to make it street legal in NJ as it is about .5" too tall.

I would like $9,000 but will consider trades for a economic daily driver ... any of the usual suspects will do... Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mozda, etc.
