UPDATE 6/26/09

Well I have just about all my parts in for my Titan swap. PRG Titan UCA's and 2.5 Rads will be here Monday but, unfortunately, I will not. Have to leave Sun for Buffalo to start knocking out last minute wedding stuff. Will be coming back to VA mid July-ish for my VCU orientation and will be doing the work then, along w/ my M226. That's right! Looks like I will be taking BPotter's rear axle off of his hands for him and swapping out my C200 for some locked goodness!

UPDATE 7/21/09

Titan swapped! PRG UCA's, 2.5 Radflo's w/ 600# Eibach springs, stock Titan LCA's, and 2" wheel spacers in the rear to match the wider front.

UPDATE

New rear suspension arrived! And wow Greg, when you said surprise I was expecting some bulk stickers or something. Thanks for the upgrade!

UPDATE 12/6/09

New HU on the way, Kenwood Excelon DNX9140 (http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_113DNX9140/Kenwood-Excelon-DNX9140.html?search=dnx9140&ssi=0). Rear KMA bumper will be getting powder-coated (semi-gloss black, so as to match my Shrockworks sliders and front bumper), remaining Shrock skids should be here any day (engine/oil pan, gas tank, & tranny), and after the body shop is done repairing the rear quarter panel & front fender damage I will be having her completely detailed (inside and out) and clay bared & waxed. An exciting couple of weeks ahead for the X!

Oh, and V-LEDS is hooking me up w/ a set of their 5000K slim ballast xenon headlights (http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-HID-FREE-SHIPPING/9007-HB5/V-HID-35W-SLIM-BALLAST-p4782969.html)! After I organized the group buy I did some other work w/ them along the lines of some detailed pics and install how-to's for their specific LED's for the '05+ Xterra. Can't wait!

Older or younger?

Has the suspension changed, or is it still the spacer lift?

He is older by 4 years.

He now has coil overs and a full suspension lift. Still IFS, but will be a front titan axle for stronger housing purposes, and new coil overs and possibly new rear leaf packs for overall about 5 inches of lift. I think he plans on doing 35's.

I need to move to Virginia where the streets are paved with gold and money grows on trees.

Nice Xterra.

Thanks for the comps, and yes - VA is the best!

Like Maxx said, I am moving up to the front Titan setup. Will have the M205 front diff, Titan axles, aftermarket UCA's (from PRG Products), stock Titan LCA's, Radflo 2.5 coilovers (Titan length) w/ Eibach 600# coils, and PRG Products extended length tie-rods.

My 285/75/16 BFG AT KO's are listed in Richmond Craigslist to see if I get any bites to pay for my new meats - 35" BFG KM2's!

New rear leaf packs are in my near future as well, my Deaver AAL is just sagging too much after all this cross-country towing and moving.

what a nice rig, like actually nice and driveable

unlike ANYONE's on here, except maybe some wk guys and the overland wj folks.

that things got the meat on the zj's though, even a 5.9 cant be as comfortable to drive daily and wheel weekends as that.

kudos to old maxx!

IZVERG
07-27-2009, 01:43 PM
Thanks! And yeah, one advantage as my wheelin' and DD being the same rig is it is an incredible ride inside that is very capable outside. Maxx always comments on that whenever I let him borrow it, that and those ~300 ponies under the hood!

Jeeperoni91

The good inside ride goes away after like 2 inch lift for us hahahaha

Yeah, on short arms. I've been in several long arm'd ZJs that rode like cadillacs.

And the one time I was in an Xterra, I felt very cramped.

I thought that they came (or had come) with a solid axle up front?

IZVERG
07-28-2009, 06:16 PM
Nope, they've all been IFS. There are many SAS'd first gen X's (2000-2004) and about 3 or 4 SAS'd second gens (2005+).

Yep, I've personally SAS'd 2 of them. I really like those rigs.

First or second gen X's (like mine)?

ELLLLLIOTTTTT

It was a first gen. Is the suspension/frame on the 2nd gens about the same? I think the 2nd's look so much better than the 1st's.

This is/was Johnny's rig.

Are those my old tires?

ELLLLLIOTTTTT
10-20-2009, 10:57 PM
I'm trying to think....

They were on your rig for awhile, then Richard put them on his Frontier, then proceeded to roll it down the highway, Johnny had them for 2 or 3 months, then he sold them to me for dirt cheap when he upgraded to 37's. EDIT: Then when I parted out the ZJ, I sold them to 93ZJChris (or something like that) on NC4x4 for what Richard paid for them. What a whoreish set of tires. Whew, tracing the lineage of old meats is difficult.

I wonder how many of my 5.9 or UAV parts are still floating around amongst the MC crew. :D

I've got quite a few uav parts in my garage and on the jeep. Your black grill is still killing the innocent bugs, it needs a coat of spray paint, but I don't want to ruin the uav's spirit

I may have missed it, but did you swap in a Titan motor or is it the VQ35?

IZVERG

No Titan motor - still have the Xterra VQ40. The "Titan Swap" consists of Titan diff, axles, and suspension.

You should swap a titan motor in. I love mine :D

I haven't followed the Xterra in awhile, I had no idea they finally caught up to Jeep in the hp arena. Those VQ motors are freaking amazing! Is the VQ40 basically a punched out VQ35?

IZVERG

I would LOVE to complete the swap and put that Titan motor in! One X guy has done it, it was a Calmini project called "Project X2."

Pretty much. I love my 265 stock horses (I'm pushing ~280 w/ aftermarket CAI and exhaust - gonna be an additional 15hp to that come mid-Jan/early Feb when I throw some Doug Thorley long-tube headers in).

IP updated w/ recent mods.

In the process of adding FatMat to my interior, 5000K HID fogs (lower lights in my front bumper) to match my HID headlights, PIAA 520 ATP lights are replacing my KC SlimLites on the roof, and a set of PIAA 1500 flood lights are going in for the Hella Optilux fogs I have on the rear of my roof rack as auxiliary reverse lights. Oh, and several new LED mods are in the works (engine bay, interior, doors, rock lights...)
