okay, I happen to be getting a '90 limited laredo XJ tomorrow.
Things you should know:
Current axles and everything under is all sorts of messed up. Current 35s on mismatched wheels that are all 15x7, alignment is shot to hell, trackbar makes it tough to drive. I dont care, I have one ton chevys to put under it (full width).
Currently has a bastardized lift that nets around 6''
Starts with a flat head (haw-haw )
Has stock 4.0 with 160k on the odo.
Had Aw4 tranny swapped out for one with 30k on it, along with the np231 taken out for the np242 out of the same vehicle with 30k, and the T/c lowered for the lift.
Other things that dont matter:
Has mismatched front fenders because the 35s crushed them
One door dosent automatically unlock
new radiator fan and I think alternator
Things I do know:
Unibody (gay!)
'frame' rails under need to be strengthened
dont bolt you can either squish the metal or they will run them selves out and stretch the hole :smt082
welding is the best bet as long as you dont burn through and only stitch weld
will be doing leaf spring conversion in the front
now I need help
So, remember I havent even had a chance to check it out but ill need a thread sooner or later so i figured why not now.

So Im gonna do that ^
Would it be smarter to move the perches on the axle to fit the cherokee, or should I fab all my own stuff and tie it to the bumpers on the cherokee (plan on getting the rock-crusher-type bumpers)
Also any idea what kind arched springs I need to lift to fit at least 38s, and my new set of rubber should be 42s?
and I just need general advice. Ive never done this kind unibody work.... ive searched and ive read threads on this board I have a good idea but there is always stuff that you learn along the way. What do I need to watch out for on the way?
Any help is appreciated, thanks :smt039
