Since the Heep wasn't near getting done for this weekend, and the bitch seat I had lined up failed, I needed to build something and do it damn quick. The plan....an Exploder.

Biggest goal here was dirt cheap, simple, and mostly importantly QUICK!! Tuesday night I threw on the 35's I've got on the stock setup. Not even a sledge hammer and sawzall could make those clear. Solution...cut off half the body to make some room :smt112 So off came the back end, and most of the front.

What I started with Tuesday:

I didn't get any pics of stuff today. Was too busy being frustrated.

Issues:

-Fuel tank fittings rotted and broke.....fix: Grand Cherokee fuel tank/pump
-Stupid thing randomly stopped putting power to the pump....fix:bypass oem wiring and go directly to the relay (later of found out the inertia switch had setoff)
-electronic 4wd no worky....fix: ditch the damn shit and just shimmy underneath and manually shift it
-no lights...fix: have my dad putz with that all day. It's got a big light bar up top now too.
-front tires rubbing like a bitch....fix: 3" body lift...homemade with 2" pipe with washer welded on the ends. Classy!
-body mount bolts broke in the rubber bushing collars...fix: swear alot, swing hammer alot, swear some more, try to use normal angle grinder, swear even more, walk around pissed offf, work on some other shit, finally bust out the BMF angle grinder with cutoff disk and really destroy some shit!

A bunch more pics tomorrow and this weekend...if I can get it fixed. Within 50 yards I grenaded the hub ujoint/shaft ear tabs which got me stuck in a muddy creek. Piss me off :smt067cause not I gotta go pull some junkyard parts hopefully. BUT...I did jack my buddies tubing bender so tomorrow I can put a roll cage behind the seats that triangulates back. Then that top behind the B pillar won't look so out of place. Maybe, just maybe I can get it fixed and on the trailer so I can drive 4 hours to break some more shit! BTW this is my first offroad trip with my own rig....even though the Exploder was suppose to be the rig my dad built. Sorry dad :smt003

A few pics from today that I took with my camera of my buddy driving. It was his first time ever offroading and my first time as a driver. We both had a blast. It didn't do too bad for a stock POS with 3.27s and 35's. Got laughed at alot but it performed way better then everyone thought it would. In the worst way it needs a decent solid axle up front that doesn't hang up and bash into absolutely everything. Definitely need to do a better cage if it's ever going to get wheeled again. Watched a guy with a full exo flip over backwards, roll twice ass over tea kettle, and that thing was pretty fuct up but the guys were fine. Makes me want to do at least a simple cage on the Jeep.

For how bad it is, we made it up over quite a bit of shit. Maybe the rear leafs became stupid stiff without all that body weight back there. The shocks are pretty short too so thats not helping either. It'd need a little TLC to make decent. Not my problem...time to get going on the jeep again. After showing pics of this weekend a few of my buddies got a big boner over getting something together for the next event at the end of July
