It was really great weather. I had packed up the ZJ, and 5 minutes down the road it was overheating and did not have enough power once I shifted into 3rd even on flat road. I turned around, threw everything into my car and headed down to ride passenger for the weekend. It was still a great time!

Jim found another ZJ (Jeff from South Bend) who overheated on the Red trail section and went to get into position and tow him back to the campgrounds...

...however, a rather large log caught his axle tube and hung him up.

Once free, Jim rescues Jeff with a tow back to camp.

The next few are Sean getting stuck and Jim winching him out.
Sean calls over the radio "Uhh guys, I got pretty stuck and I think I need Jim to winch me out..."

Arif ate raw bacon, not once, but 4 times... I had never seen anyone do that.

I had a great time (even for a 1100 mile road trip), and thanks to all that came out.

Next time we should all ride together consistently throughout the weekend. I got caught up in the "be right back" stuff. I always try to help new people in the sport and it usually means less seat time, but I was new at it once and I'm paying back the help I recieved.

Tim,

Special thanks to you for coming down even after your rig was unable to make it.

I'm gonna cast my vote for you to be the trail leader next time out. You have a good knowledge of the park, the trails, the machines, good spotter, and dog gone it, people like you. haha. Get your junk fixed!

I got asked to lead a few times, but that is not a good idea. I have a tendancy to push stock rigs a little harder than thier owners would like. I over estimate the drivers ability not the rigs. These things will go a lot of places that the owners won't, but that comes with experience.

Sean,

I'm still sorry about the holes I dug on the side of the dunes (cause of the winch out). I did not realize you were behind me.

I like to be in the back of the pack when running with trucks a little less capable. I helps the confidence level to know that I can always get them off the trail if needed.

That log stuck for me was just plain stupid! I should have got both front tires up to the log together. I knew better than that, but a nice recovery none the less Dillion.

At Least you could have posted overheating pics and claimed the first carnage of the weekend..................

How many people want to see this Tortoise thing run........

I agree it sounds like people were everywhere and not getting together..

something should've been laid on the winch line.especially with someone standing right next to it when they have a 12-15ft lead

besides that, looks like you guys had a blast
