what do you guys do to secure your trailers while traveling? (overnight motel parking, extended stay parking, etc)

boot style wheel locks? chains?

This is what I use...

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0063871020187a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=trailer+lock&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=0&_D:hasJS=+&N=0&_D:sort=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/search/search-box.jsp.form1&Go.x=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1

As well as just the regular old lock through the latch.

edit: although those wheel locks do look like something worth getting....

I use a receiver lock to prevent them from taking the receiver out and a coupler latch lock to prevent them from decoupling it from the hitch ball. It was a kit I got from an auto parts store. Make sure you get stainless steel so you don't need to deal with rust. Although I suppose they can just unscrew the nut on the ball, so I should probably get a trailer ball lock, too. Short of that, they need a sawzall or other metal cutting tool to get it.

The storage place I have for my trailer is under 24/7 video surveillance, but I use the coupler latch lock to prevent someone from hooking it up.

Also, if you are at a hotel or parking it overnight, you can always "park in" the trailer (have a buddy park behind it or back it into a parking spot), so it can't be moved unless your truck is moved.

I always use my hitch & latch locks. I want to do something extra while on the road.

Did some online searching and found Trimax. Shit looks bombproof.

I realize nothing is theft-proof, but I want some added deterrent and a little piece of mind

A quick read thru here got me thinking - way too many trailers snatched

Yeah, just looking at the titles of those on PB there are a TON of trailers stolen! Those Trimax locks look pretty snazzy and affordable too.

Well, yeah... Th "park in" idea is only good as long as your truck doesn't get stolen. You might as well put a wheel lock on your truck, too.
