Hey all,

So I've come up on 6 35" MTRs. All of them are used. Need some opinions.

2 are Nice and relatively new say 85%

2 Are Clean and have been worn down to 30%

2 are rough around the edges (nothing missing) but are about 75% Looks like someone was pealing out on them. The Nicely defined edges of the Mtr are rounded.

So I am thinking of running the 4 that have more tread and using the lesser's as my spare. Any objections? Am I over thinking this?

You really need help making this decision?

The leading edges of all my lugs are worn off. No big deal. Pretty typical for tires that get wheeled.

Thats what I figured, I just wanted a second opinion. Figured they would just make some more noise than the others. The jeep just went of the DD roster so not too worried. Thanks for the reassurance.

It's also backwards. You want more tread on your front tires for a multitude of reasons.

They look dry rotted to me.

What do you see that indicates that? Isnt dry rot on the side wall and not on the tread?

I've enjoyed my 31's and I expect to do the same with the 35's. Pops already has dibbs on the extra spare.

Dry rot is dry rot regardless of location. They are shiny, the first sign the rubber is hard. Do some burnouts with them to soften them up.

The reason you want more tread on the front is because not only do the front wheels steer but they do the majority of the braking. The rear wheels don't steer. Would you rather have the rear wheels spin a little when accelerating, or crash into a tree because your front tires are bald and you can't stop or steer?

pretty sure 75% tread doesnt count as bald. and if my tires are bald i buy new ones

could always go

D75% P85%

RD85% RP75%

...just kidding

I could probably spin them if I threw it into a turn and punched it, other than that my 4slo is pretty much useless in that department. They aren't going on for a couple months, is there anything I should do to prevent any more deterioration?

How old are the tires? Look up the date code on the sidewall. If they're more than 5 years old, I'd pass.

Its too late to pass. They are sitting in my garage. But I will look at that.
