I plan to cover my belly skid and wisbone rear skid with the plastic "cutting board" stuff that the Competetion buggies use on the boatsides and bellies. I dont know exactly what it is called... and I have no Idea where to buy sheets of it! anybody know?

Oh. I found it. UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) found a place local to me that sells sheets. Sweet.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm 1/8"?

Try again. There are guys with rigs a lot lighter than yours cracking 1/2" UHMW. If you plan to run it unsupported, I'd go somewhere between 1/2" and 1". If you plan to just attach it to 1/4" plate for ease of sliding, then 1/8" might be OK.

I did say I was planning on covering my existing skid plate with this. The skid is 3/16 and I will most likely use 3/16 or 1/4 UHMW. I would never plan on using it unsupported.

ROCK!

you should still go thicker then 1/8 even if it is completly supported. i have broken 3/8 before and it was screwed to plate. spend more now, save more later.
