I got a friend here at school that has a 2000 Toyota 4runner with the V6 (3.0 I think with 130K miles or so). She's been complaining that it stumbles a lot when it's running until the engine warms up. I'm thinking it's something like a coolant sensor or maybe a MAP sensor (something the engine uses when it's in the open loop warm up mode), but I'm not familiar at all with Toyotas. A few months ago she said she took it to the dealership and they put a "decarb" kit on it, and then soon after that it started acting up. Any idea what a decarb kit is? She doesn't know that much about cars, so I'm not sure what she's meaning. Something to do with emissions maybe?
Any pointers on where I should start looking to fix this problem? I don't know anything about Toyota's, but I have a lot of experience with Jeeps. Any good Toyota forums where I could search this stuff up? Something like Mallcrawlin for Toyotas maybe?
Thanks for the help.
