This is my replacement for the jeep
86 4runner, 22re, 4x4, 5spd
This is how she looked the day I picked her up

I took the top off and started cutting rust out to prep for paint

Olive drab is looking pretty sexxay.

Tommorow I plan on cutting the rust off the front and finishing paint
Next step is a rear bumper to replace the non-existent one I have now.
Also on order is a front cross member and shackles for a SAS, should be here later this week

Didn't get as much done today as I would have liked to. Finished the painting, but didn't get the rest of the rust cut out. or the rear bumper started.

I am thinking this thing might get the locked and loaded axles out of my heep if I can find a j10 passenger drop 44. we will see.
In other news I have a free set of waggy wheels that are going on this thing, I gotta keep my jeep roots...

Well it's been forever since I have updated this, I had a trip to the Dakotas to work on a reservation for a month in December/January, which was when I was planning on doing most of my work on the Toad.

When I got back I ended up getting another runner with a super clean body and a problematic motor for cheap.
This week I finally put the cage in the new runner, and threw the iroks on to get them out of my apartment.

I plan on getting the Chevy springs in the rear of this thing this weekend, and maybe getting the motor out.
With the nice weather hopefully I'll get this build going again.

got the rear chevy swap finished.
I swapped in the rear lincoln locked 5.29's, and the housing with a better pinion angle and triangulated shock mounts I scored for free.
Next up is pulling the motor/trans/tcase, pressure washing the bay, and starting the sas while I build the doubler/4.7 cases, and driveshafts.

So after buying and selling 2 other runners, I settled on an 85, 22re, solid axle. A good foundation for a build. It has a good bit of cancer in the drivers floor, and the rockers, but the frame is fairly solid minus one spot in front of the second body mount.
Named for where I am working... in front of the trailer I'm renting
On the the specs.. This is what I already have in the shed waiting to go on/in
Toy axles, with TG high steer.
IFS box moved forward
5.29 gears, welded f+r
36" iroks on 15x8s
4xInnovations cage
4.7:1 gears, and twin stick in the tcase
Rear springs up front, with hanger moved .75" forward
Chevy 63's in the rear
Homebrew Front bumper and Smittybuilt 8K winch
tube front DS
Headers for the 22re
Pics so far...
