My fog lights on my 95 zj are junk. They work but both lenses are missing. Can a hella 450 or equivelent light be connected to the factory fog light switch?. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

I put some el cheapo autozone fogs on mine. I used the OEM wires, but be aware, the OEM setup is an isolated circuit, meaning if the housing of the light grounds, it will blow fuses. I used a peaive of 1/2" thick delrin(sp?) to mount to metal, and then mount the light to the delrin That might not work for a larger Hella 450, but you will need to isolate the light, or use the factory wires as a trigger for the hella relay.

Speaking of those fuses... I was taking out a blown bulb on my factory fog, and I shorted it and heard a pop under the hood and the other one wont light now... I didnt even care to look at what fuse blew... ( I don't use the fogs all that much) but just wondering which fuse (Id assume its a bigger sized one) and how much does one of those puppies cost? where are they available? or is it just a standard type fuse?

That's what I did to mine 6 years ago. I have never had a problem.

Mine was a small fuze, and I went thru a handfull of them before I figured out the isolated circuit.

I used the Piaa harness and connected the accessory lead on the piaa switch to the factory plug and grabbed the wire that was hot when the OEM FOG switch was engaged. You can grab it from behind the dash or straight from the plug.

But on my XJ I did it straight to the factory plug and it worked for years till I killed the jeep.

Thanks for bumping an old ass thread for bad English.
Plug in the JY switch and the harness plug is under the battery or under the passenger side headlight (around in there somewhere already). go back to the JY and get the rest of the wiring harness that plugs into the EXISTING harness that is already there. (I did just this)

Bringing a topic back from the dead...

I replaced my stock fog lights with HID fog lights on the stock wiring. I tested one first and it worked fine then I hooked the second one up and it blew the fuse. I heard a relay may solve my problem but I dont know how and where to install one. How do I fix this?

I have a FSM for a 93, but the wiring changed in 96 I believe. I am running 4 Hella's off the factory fog light wiring on a 97 with no problems.
