Just had a Warrior Products roof rack given to me. Well, I had to remove it from the old vehicle, so it cost me a half hour of my time:D, but, anyways,it's off a TJ, and have all the mounting hardware minus the bolts that mount to the body tub of the TJ, I've already removed the tubes that attach the bakt to the body, so I have this decent, and free rack? anyone know if it'll fit my ZJ? and if the dimensions are good, how to mount it? are there kits somewhere to mount these? thanks in advance.

alright, if anyone gives a hoot- will a mounting kit for an XJ with a factory roof rack work for my ZJ? Found a kit, but it's $65, and made for a different rack, but I figure if the dimensions are the same for the rack, it should work fine. Just need curious if anyone has ran into something like this, but most racks come with hardware to mount it, but the TJ mounts are WAY wrong, lol...

yeah, the rack is stuffed in the back of the ZJ right now since I lve in an apartmen with no place to store it, just e-mailed Warrior Products to see if they have a kit.Found this onehttp://www.sportsimportsltd.com/stbu52x60ror.html has a part number for a mounting kit, but no picture, and I'm not wanting to send $65 and get a kit that won't work. Going to measure it up right now.

ok, 46 across, about 56 long, 4 deep, give or take.

Oh, I know it will fit, I just want to make sure it's mounted securely, don't want it falling off in traffic and killing anyone.

yeah, planned on it. Been busy doing online Chrysler training courses, loads of fun if your interested. But i figured I'd hit it with some sand paper and just rattle can it.

so, with no response from Warrior products, I might run down to a Yakima rack installer, I've heard they carry a lot of misc. mounting hardware for all types of racks.

well, got the yaima mighty mounts, set it all up- didn't like the look rack sat to far up with the setup. Needed the money to rebuild the rear diff, so I sold it for $110(read- dirt cheap) to a guy off craigslist who is going to adapt it to his Jeepster Commando, oh well, at least it went to a fellow Jeeper.....

You win some, you lose some. Summit has a cheap roof rack (or they used to) for an XJ. Might have one for a ZJ too.

U-bolts will make any rack fit any vehicle.

yeah, U-Bolts would have worked. Not sue if I'm going to even put a roof rack on it in the near future, was just hoping to get that one on, since it was free. Just threw the full size spare on top, moved the cross bars together to hold it, and used a couple ratchet straps to secure it- it works.
