Well damn, Kara S. saved 130$ last month...it's gotta be good! I bet she did the conversion herself too.

If you expand on this concept a bit - you can turn water into hydrogen. If you could buy a hydrogen car today, you could generate the hydrogen for it from tap water and electricity. Stick a solar collector on your roof and you might be able to power the Electrolyzer for "free". Of course you'd need to spend thousands on the solar collectors and thousands more for the Electrolyzer. But then your fuel would be free!

It might not be that bad. My biggest bill every month is gas.

on the topic of alternative fuels, i think it would be sweet to swap a diesel into a Grand then put a vegetable oil conversion kit into it. besides the initial cost and install time i think it would pay for itself quickly after a couple stops at the local micky d's and chinease food to pick up the oil they usually pay to take away. this would also be good for guys with strict emmisions testing because veggy oil burns really clean.

has anyone done this? has anyone even swapped in a diesel into a
grand at all?

yes there is a build thread on a diesel zj. Its pretty sweet. I know that diesal cost more but you also get more mpg with diesel. so its not as bad as you think. I think he put a 4 cyl. cummings in his jeep. He also gained hp. I would do it if i found a cummings for the right price.

there's a guy on a wk forum that has run his 2008 crd 8k miles on pure biodiesel. He makes it himself-i think he's paying $1 per gallon of linseed oil.

If you can make biodiesel our of cheap linseed oil, I wonder why there isn't more commercial biodiesel available?

This hydrogen thing is bullshit, and this idea has been around for YEARS.

I figured out why this wouldn't work by myself back in high school.

That thing is a piece of junk. It just idles over rocks without any effort and has a Clayton's kit, which we all know is junk. The turn signal on that thing is junk to since it just cracked when it hit a tree. That whole rig is a piece of junk. :flipoff2:

I really hope you are able to pick up on the sarcasm in my comments...
