this is a feeler/for sale thread. As of today, 6/5/2008 I want to sell it.
Here's close to what it looks like now:
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg23/phillyzj/RauschCreekApril12-13006.jpg
build sheet:
98zj/107k miles/4.0/42re/np242 - clean title ready to go
Turbo City intake/filter/bored TB/adjustable MAP sensor
trans has ~50k and works well.
35"krawlers/MRW beadlocks - leaky and tires are not perfect, good trail tires not really road worthy
bilstein 5125's on all 4 corners - rear will be finished up in the next week or two
Front axle: HP44 - 78 Bronco/4.88's/detroit/new superwinch hubs/ruffstuff cover/complete spare axle/moog balljoints in one side, stock in good condition in the other side/new brakes (calipers/pads/1rotor)
Rear axle: currie 9"/62"wms-wms/5x4.5" bolt pattern/5x4.5-5x5.5 1.25" spacers/4.88's/detroit/Strange case/billet pinion support/billet yoke/31 spline currie alloy axles/8.8 disc brakes
rear suspension: 4 link 4.5" RE XJ coils
front wristed/extened ford radius arms to custom crossmember 4.5" ZJ coils
hydro assist (suprluss center ram, tapped stock box) works great, tiny bit slow
rear TJ swaybar
custom rock rails - air tight and tapped for NPT fittings. 3gals or so between the two.
custom front bumper with 2" receiver and D ring mounts.
issues:
leaky trans - has since i installed it, never bothered, i just keep an eye on it.
battery dies after a few days, good idea to keep a trickle charger on it or just a cut-off if you don't drive it regularly, fine for a weekend of wheelin.
dents/dings/scars from wheelin
rear stock UCA's ripped out and have been patched with sheet metal
driveshafts are on the short side though they work the way they are.
broken tail light
I am looking to sell it because it just doesn't fit my needs, it's a great family rig, but it will get beat to death if i continue to wheel it :) It works great, it wheels great, haven't had it out with the rear swaybar yet, but it feels A LOT more stable than it did, i think it will be pretty stable off camber too. I started building it in '03. I DD'ed it until i ripped the rear UCA's out in the end of '05
it could be made street legal with flares and a front swaybar and some different tires/wheels.
$6500 OBO

I am working on the rear Shocks, so they aren't in. Also this is with the 4.5" XJ coils in the front and stock ford bronco (78) coils in the rear. I like the way it looks but the rear springs are pretty stiff. It's not hard to switch it around, but i am going to put the 4.5" ZJ springs back in the front and the 4.5" XJ springs back in the back.
