We blew a hole in Jerod's tire in Pritchett Canyon that day and then we DESTROYED that same tire today.

The diff is a 44a with a busted passenger shaft.

Definitely a good bunch of guys to wheel with and I'll for sure be there next year! Hopefully that Scratch-X that we got takes those little scratches out on the passengers side ;)

Just rolled into town. I had a great time as always. It was good to get to know some people a little better, meet a few new people, and hang out with old friends. I want to thank Jerod, Dirk, Tyler, Mark C, Mark P, Brian Cahill, Matt and his father, Kevin, and Monica for the good company on the trails....Eric Pitcher and Ted Z, for lending parts to fallen rigs, the entire Pritchett night recovery posse, and everyone else that helped out and made the event a success.

I was the only rig on my 2 trails that wasn't trailered and I managed to survive and drive the predominately plum pig home. I even took a detour and got in another 60 miles of trail between US6 and Huntington. All in all, I think that is a fitting end to a successful trip.

Matt

Even though I was rigless at this years GSW I had a BLAST! I can't thank everyone enough for putting on such a great event and making it very worthwhile. My Dad and I had a great time and ended up hiking about 26 miles. We were able to see some beautiful stuff and it was definitely something I wouldn't have done if I had the ZJ there.

Everyone pitched in (either with planning, helping, fixing rigs, picking up trash, lending tools, etc) and it's just another reason I hope to be at GSW for years to come.

Hope everyone made it home safe and it was great to see old friends and make some new ones!

Well we just rolled into Town and am just checking in to say we made it to Jerod's place in Livermore.

I'm going to crash here tonight and head home in the morning.

I will get the pix uploaded tomorrow of our drive home.

Jerod and I are already planning our trip for GSW 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cue-Ball
06-02-2008, 02:38 PM
We did roll through Vegas. Same amount of time basically and got to see some different sites.

We spent maybe 1.5hrs. in Vegas total and then back on the road.

Yes it is a LONG haul, but worth EVERY minute to hang out with you guys and have a FANTASTIC weekend.

AgitatedPancake
06-02-2008, 03:10 PM
Dirk how long did the trip take you guys? And what route did you take? When I went in 05 we took 50 all the way into utah. It would have been like 15 hours nonstop, but because I blew my sh*t up it took over 20 hours =/

Cue-Ball
06-02-2008, 03:55 PM
On the way out we took 80 out through Reno and then out to SLC. It took us about 16 hours from the time we left Livermore till we hit the Condo in Moab.

On the return trip we went 70 down to 15 thru Vegas and then south and cut across 58 to the 5 and then North to Livermore, again right about 16 hours.

Next year we think we might just go thru Reno both directions, was a more scenic drive and a bit more staight thru it seemed.

A girl was driving it for a bit! Don't know.

Yup, that just goes to show that girls can drive also.

This is Larinda Cody's friend that came over from Colorado to visit. She was great to hang out with, and I spoke to her today and she is planning to come out for the entire event again next year, (I guess us Nor Cal guys were able to show her a good enought time for her to want to return).

http://www.fototime.com/%7B9B4C4F12-ACF9-42F5-AF8F-52649FAA52F5%7D/picture.JPG

Not only was she able to navigate some decent sized obstacles, but she was even able to drive it out to the trail head when we headed out. Even managed to drive it out with a dead front tire.

http://www.fototime.com/%7B92E85DD8-FCA9-4779-BD5B-459EA846AC7C%7D/picture.JPG

It was a great run. But after that day we were done. We put the spare on before putting her back on the trailer for the last time for the trip. Right after this picture the Jeep blew the cap off the radiator overflow bottle and puked coolant all over the place.

Heating issues were really the only big problem we had on the entire trip. That will be resolved before we make it out there next year.

Well technically Lower Helldorado doesn't exist anymore since that land has been bought. But it is Upper Helldorado (now just Helldorado) that has the waterfall at the exit.

Tommy

That is what I thought. I just read that queue mentioned Lower Helldorado earlier in the post.

And if it was upper I wanted to see some more pics. Looks like the bling bling ZJ stayed far right. And would have liked to see it coming out of the waterfall at the end.

Ever since my last trip to Moab I have been wanting to take my ZJ on Upper Helldorado. I have a feeling that I will see some good body damage in a couple spots.

In this spot...

the entrance and the dirt patch 5 feet past it you turn left upon to go up minor threat.

I'm not sure what you are refferring to as gate keeper....is that the split crack/ledge at the very very bottom? If so, it's so washed out it's not even driveable at this point. At least not by anything short of a comp buggy.
