Here are pictures of my rear bearing puller I whipped up. View at your own risk - do not think about blaming me if you try this and mess something
up.

For install, I used a rubber impregnated plastic and a hammer, and for the seal I used the same except cut so it contacted appropriate metal spots. Oh and I needed to remove the seal prior, and a pry bar made quick work of that alongside a lil chisel.

You would not believe the contraption I made prior to this, using a jack, an elevated surface, and chains / wire. It was somewhat stupid - EXCEPT - by the time I last tried it, I realized I had all these pieces already made and a little rearragement worked for me.

Amazing how bolts can be used each way (Not only for tightening something.) Oh, and I used weak metal up top which was cumbersome, and the center bolt needed to be tightened as I went along. The inner piece was difficult to cut, 3/8in steel, and a diaganol groove, alongside a bolt head groove. And making sure it doesn't catch on the axle and only touches the bearing was crucial. If I had to do it over again I'd use 4 pretty raiser bolts, and maybe a higher grade center. But all in all the weather looked just grand after all was said and done. I doubt the parts alone cost me more than a 20 spot.

With each post, you're getting closer and closer to being comprehensible. You have 12 posts now, by about post 1012, you should be fully understandable.

Do us all a favor and sit back and have your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/dog read your posts...if their head explodes, re-word the fawkin thing. What fucking bearing are you referring to here??????

What? You're telling me you own a 96 ZJ and don't know what the rear axle shaft bearing (by the wheel, not inside the differential.) Looks like? You don't want to know how frequently I think the seals should be replaced, then.

I just use a slide hammer with the bearing attachment.

So you made a seal out of a hammer (you can buy premade seals, some even fit you application)
Prior to that it took you a jack, elevated surface, chains and wire the make same seal. Did it seal? guess not, hence the hammer seal.

Please refrain from you bigoted comments, everone knows bolts swing both ways and they are sensitive, to much pressure and they crack.

BTW nice pic... of what I do not know but nice pic

What the hell is that "contraption" he made in the pics supposed to do?

I'm not understanding how that can pull a bearing.

looks like to me the thing on the top is a bearing and when you loosen the nuts on the two outer bolts it pulls on the bearing.
