i am looking into getting a winch.
i have decided on WARN. now, i am looking at different models.

here is one that i like.
it has a long cable, wich is a big bonus, and the 12,000lb rating is also realy nice, seeing as how i seem to be pulling out vehicles that are larger than i am.

here is the other one that has realy caught my eye, the 9.5K seems enough, and i just run a snach block in more situations than with a 12K.

i also like the fact that this winch has a 6HP motor over the 4.6HP, and the speed of it is nice, but not my biggest concern.

the one thing i dont like about it, it only has 100Ft of cable, compared to the 125Ft of the others.

this one, i am kinda reserved on it, it seems like a new, mabe even a kinda unproven technology, but i havent looked into it at all.
also, it cost lots of $$, so that is another downside.

the only 9.5Ti I have ever seen on the trail was ran through the ringer and didnt overheat.
We used a pullpal to get the owner through some serious slop, then he turned around and winched the other 3 rigs through after they made their try and came up short aswell. Overall, the winch was used for 14 hours and probably 15 to 20 pulls throughout the night

I went with the 9K Warn. I also pull out larger rigs than myself using another rig as an anchor, but I integrate y winch snatch blocks whenever possible to lessen the stress on the winch and double the pulling power. I know it reduces the pull time by 50% but in this instance, speed isnt important to me.
Life is better in low range anyway.

Either way, congrats ahead of time in getting a winch and using it!

Call 4wheelparts.com and speak with Wess extension 5637. They are part of the same company as winch depot. He works for the corporate company and can hook you up with the price. Also he can give you a $50 no questions asked LIFETIME warranty on the winch. He told me if you break the line all you have to do is call and they will send a whole new winch.
