I believe thats C channel.

The majority of stress the unibody recieves is from where the suspenson mounts. thats really one of the only place stress can be added. I personally don't think adding stiffeners up that far will do much. but on the other hand It couldn't hurt anything.

I think he is talking about the tube running from driver to pass sude. If you look just right of the coilover and under the uni-frams

I think you would want that more forward near the track bar mount seeing that is were the most stress is added.

I found a crack in my uni-frame between the trackbar mount and gear box it was about 5" long. So i sleaved it with 1/4" and will be adding some tube from track bar mount to passenger side uni-frame.

Never mind i just reread his post lol

Check out Chad's build thread, "The Tuna Boat." The plating starts around here I think: http://www.mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2899&page=23&highlight=tuna

"sleeved the whole uni-frame"

i highly doubt thats even possible. there are so many bends and angles in the rail, i dont know of any tubing that would slide inside it and be worth cutting the frame up to do so. i like "the tuna boat" thread, lots of plate work.
i have thought of doing some rails on the outside by cutting one side off some square tube, but after doing a lot of measuring, and planning, it just wouldnt work, or be worth my time and effort. theres not enough surface to weld to, and it would make things worse.

Dude seriously! You need to SEARCH! The topic of uniframe stiffeners and uniframes in general has been beaten to death on this forum. Within this forum are a fuck ton of research that will SERIOUSLY answer your question. There are diagrams done in CAD that explains the strengths and weaknesses of subframes to include Clayton's.

The best part of doing your OWN research is that in the end YOU decide for YOURSELF if this is the best answer for your rig.
