They are a pain in the ass. Everytime people get out of my ZJ on the trail it locks them out.

I've searched but so far came up empty

You could try pulling the door lock/unlock relays - they're in the fuse block under the passenger kick panel.

Anyway to do it without loosing the powerdoorlocks all together?

If not I'll just pull the relays when I go to the trail.

Don't you have to exceed 15-20mph to activate the auto door locks?

Maybe he thinks he's in his stang when he's on the trail...is Hunter going to lose his Captain Throttle title?

IIRC 96-98 can be programmed to lock/unlock when you shift into gear, or when you reach a certain speed, or not at all. I do know the dealer has to do the programming though.

Mine lock at 15 mph. Not an issue on the trail for me. I'm a pussy.

Drive or reverse mine locks as soon as the vehicle moves an inch.

So dealer only huh. What tool does the dealer use to reprogram this feature? I have a friend that works at the dealer and another friend that works at the local community college teaching automotive tech so I'm sure I can get one of them to reprogram it for me.

Another option might be to get the automatic starter, that re-programs it to only lock when you first start the car, so if someone get out on the trial, it will stay unlocked. (im not positive on this, but just an idea)

The stock comp. will still lock them when programed.

My Viper alarm locks them when I start the jeep but the stock comp. still locks them again at 15mph.

are you the original owner?

does it/could it have LoJack and you not know it?
LoJack locks the doors automatically 20 secs after the door is opened.

my 97' locks the doors when you get to 15 mph
