Well I guess I will start one of these things. First I had an 87 wagoneer d44 hp 30 4.5inches and 33s
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/vampirikfox/Image00088.jpg
After finding the floor boards were gone decided to sell it

So a friend told me a guy at his work was selling a 96 with 8 inch long arm kit, he wanted the long arm kit I wanted the jeep we went half and half
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/vampirikfox/Image044.jpg

The guy got in over his head is my best guess as to why things were done the way they were, bolts werent tight, parts werent installed yada yada
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/vampirikfox/Image042.jpg

street tires suck

So I finally got it home, gutted the interior, it was solid, next was to swap out the 8.25 for my dana 44, get rid of the rusty suspension and install my own.

TnT skid and long arms
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/vampirikfox/Image039-1.jpg
RE 7.5 coils 2 inch spacer, RE 5.5 inch leaves and boomerang shackle RE nitro shocks, sits a little taller than Id like, hopefully it will settle

Next was to find out why it wouldnt start, which ended up being the neutral safety switch. Changed out some rusty freeze plugs and see how things went, so far so good.

A friend at work got a package deal on jeep stuff and 36s were part of that, he wanted a smaller tire so I traded my 33 TSLs for his 36 TSLs on aluminum wheels with a new full size spare

Here is how it sits currently

This week its getting hauled to get drive shafts made. When it gets back I am going to relocate the shock brackets in the rear, install the shocks, unibody stiffeners, test and tune, find a rear hitch, and do something in the front for recovery points. Hopefully I can have it ready for big dogs in april

Thanks, Got it back from the drive shaft place, installed the rear shocks, hopefully tomorrow the unibody stiffeners get installed. Do a little adjustments to the alignment and then I can see how it flexes

The steering geometry is all outta wack, and it limits the front end travel, so for the sake of time because big dogs is soon, I think I am going to take 2 inches out of it, and run 33s at big dogs, then afterwards I have a lot more time to test and tune different setups

1fox2go
04-29-2008, 06:33 PM
Took out the 2 inches and ran 33s for big dogs here is how it sits now, err about 3 hours ago before I tried something

A friend let me borrow his 35s

They fit well, haven't trimmed the rear yet, probably do that this weekend

Now I just need to decide on what flavor I want to run in 35s

Current stats are 4.56s, nice I6 rebuild, heavy duty steering, dunno the company but it was free so I wont complain

I guess future plans are a cage and some nice bucket seats, get some rocker protection

The lime green's pretty wicked, it matches the diff cover. My brother's been wanting an xj, and I think your build's won him over.

Been looking into an XJ for myself here lately- but selling my 93 ZJ is proving impossible right now, might have to trade it in- I want a 97-2000, preferably a 99 with a 5 speed:)
Trying to deal with a little Odometer fraud issue on the ZJ at the moment, not to happy about that....

Why did you put them on pointing outwards?

1fox2go
02-15-2009, 04:10 PM
Under the hood has structure support bracing, mounting them this way allowed me to not have to cut through that. Although since the previous owner or whoever before me hit a tree or poll on the passenger side, it buckled the hood enough for one damn stud to be lined up with that bracing.

Iron Scorpion is good stuff, it's to bad he's not doing anything for the ZJ crowd. Nice job on the front bumper.

But looks BA, how much for the kit? Brother has an XJ, might be more than interested in this kit....

HIJACK! I wonder how hard that bumper would be to adapt to a ZJ? could you get some measurements inside width of the frame mounts and the over all width of the bumper

Post up pics of the old ZJ!

1fox2go
03-10-2009, 05:28 PM
It wouldn't be hard to adapt I don't think. Worst case would be needing wider main plate where the winch bolts. When I get home to a computer I will pm you asking what measurements you need.

Elliot was you asking for pics of my old ZJ?

Haha yea grammer I sold that thing a while back if I find any I will post them just for you.

As for the price it was 350 for the kit long mounts which extend further back into the frame rail for more secure points a steering box brace for the inner frame rail that replaces the factory aluminum piece. Shipping was 63 bucks from CO to VA

Getting the jeep ready for big dogs. Got some hunsaker seats installed and grooved my TSLs. Only thing left is adjust the trackbar, check things over and load up

and I broke a window at crozet, super
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d69/vampirikfox/utf-8BSU1HMDAwNzkuanBn.jpg

Picked up a roof rack that extends a little passed the jeep to catch it if I lean into trees. Going to modify it after big dogs so it sits lower

The rack looks huge to be honest. The groved TSL's looks good as does the sticker under the back window! :)

Did the other one fit on the bumper?

1fox2go
04-22-2009, 03:15 PM
The rack is pretty big but the guy that built it and sold it to me used it to haul stuff, I only plan to stick a tire up there for the drive over to crozet.

The windshield sticker was too big for the bumper too bad its not green or I would have it on the back hatch

I will find a place for it though

Isn't that similar to the one on Berk's XJ?

Hows the install on your Dad's TNT kit going! I'm on hold with MileMarker again right now as I type trying to get that controller taken care of! I'll be in touch later.

1fox2go
04-22-2009, 03:33 PM
The plan is to get that belly skid in tonight, he's off all day tomorrow so if we can get it started it should be finished just in time

Not sure if that controller will be in in time. Unless they next day it then maybe... Thanks again for taking care of that.

Yeah...that's why I'm still on hold b/c they've been sitting on this for 5 days w/out doing anything and now they don't want to overnight it. If they had acted on it when I sent them the info they wouldn't have to!

After 20 mins now of being on hold as this guy talks to his manager...I'm hopefull.

gotta sell the tires while they have tread

"Eh, hmm. Investments. Eh, I do investments. Consulting in the business, eh, business, eh, analysing, stocks, eh, NASDAQ, eh, Dow Jones, Wall Street Journal, eh, New York City, CNN" "gotta sell the stocks when they are high, buy when they are low"

as for the zj....got no trailer

Hmm all you gotta do is ask. I may have been able to swing a trailer for you, you would just have to figure out how to get a truck and the zj to staunton

tell pat to suck your balls, im sure you did more fab work on that wrangler than he did. Bring the zj so at least everyone here at MC can see it on the trail twice

Drive it down there. Tow back whichever rig breaks. At least I'm assuming Pat's TJ is street legal, too.
