Hi in Oct 07 I picked up a M100 Jeep trailer . It needed work and still does
I 've been working on it and posted some pictures.
www.7slotgrills.com/m100project.html (http://www.7slotgrills.com/m100project.html) These Jeep trailers are great
and a lot of history.

You have probably seen these, but here is a link to some photos of my '46 Bantam civilian "jeep" trailer. They may give you some ideas.

The Military has built these trailers right and they are a great find.
If I did not find my M100 I would have looked for a M416 They are allways on Ebay.

If you are looking for a camo tarp for your Jeep tailer try
Surplus Canada. Mine on the way can't wait. I welded a CJ spindle on a axle tube and then mounted a 6 bolt hub took measurments and have the other side almost done.

Got my Jeep trailer camo tarp from Surplus Canada yesterday.
It's snowing so I have not put it on yet . Heavy tarp made for the Military
this is going to look great on my M100. I don't know how to post pictures here but If you go to www.7slotgrills.com/m100project.html (http://www.7slotgrills.com/m100project.html) you will see
the tarp on a M101 from Canada and I will post pictures on the tarp on my M100 soon.

I picked up some Krylon Camouflage 4293 Olive paint today.
It's non reflective and dries in 15 minutes. I painted the front of my M100 to see what it looks like. I like it better then the crap army Green RustO paint I first painted the box with. LOL

I finished welding up my NEW M100 axle, got some new Ubolts and put her in. I used Stage 8 locking jam nuts. I sell them and they work great .They will never back off. They were made for dana 44's but work on the Jeep's 6 bolt hubs from a Dana 30 same as the M100 hubs.

Now I find out that the spring hangers are from a Early Jeep CJ.
Someone over time took the M100 ones off. If anyone has a set please let me know or where I can get some.

I have a late 40's vintage Bantam 3C jeep trailer that I am fixing up. Mine is used for camping trips and pulls great behind my 96 ZJ and 84 CJ8. One of these days I want to make a rack for it so I can haul my small fishing pontoon boat on top of gear stashed below in the trailer bed. The first thing I discovered about these old trailers is that the left side has left handed lug nuts and the right side is right handed. I found out about this the hard way and ended up having to replace the left side lugs after stripping several of them. Wish I knew where to find the correct lug bolts to replace the ones I messed up.

Wow...that's so British! Lots of old British cars had that feature. It goes back to the days of knock of nuts in the center of a spoked wheel. This was supposed to help prevent them from loosening up due to road vibrations. Kind of a concern when you only had one big nut holding the wheel on. They carried it over to the lug nuts when they started using them.

You might try a vendor that specializes in old British cars for those nuts. It may just be easier to switch the studs though.

Lots of the Dodges/Chryslers from the early to mid sixties had left hand lug nuts as well...

I'm most likely buying an M416 trailer this week. I don't know that it will ever be as clean as yours, but maybe one day...

My M100 has the short spring hangers so I added 2" tubing on top of the front spring hanger this gave it the lift that I needed. I just painted the Bed with POR. www.7slotgrills.om/M100project.html (http://www.7slotgrills.om/M100project.html)

I had a set of factory 6" Jeep rims just painted them Krylon Olive Green.
I used a spray can and a hand adapter from Walmart those things make to paint like a pro!

Are the ID numbers under the left front spring hanger on a M100?

I wanted to get some paint on my M100 bed that I painted with POR15.
I found Dark Olive at Home Depot from RustO. I like it better then the army green but I think the Krylon 4293 Olive paint looks better. I found out I can get it in a QT.

I got the brake parts from Mullins Jeep parts in the other day.
I made a brake mount by using angle iron. But I'm hoping to get the right
part soon from a guy online.

I found a pair of front spring hangers for my M100. They are off a 416
I might cut the holes to look like the M100's.

I got the spring hangers in yesterday and drilled 2 1" holes in the sides to look like ones off a M100.

I found out the springs are to long 41" off a later CJ? and they should be 36 1/4" So I'm going to wait till I get the right springs to continue.

I traded in the 01 TJ for a new tow rig for my M100 a 05 Rubicon.

7slotgrills
11-23-2008, 11:39 AM
The Rubicon is much better for towing with the 4:10 gears and 4 wheel disc's.

I picked up a cmo tire cover and painted the crown gas cover flat brown
to go with the M100 camo/ olive drab.

I had to get a new camo tire cover to fit a 33" spare. I added
rear tail light covers to the Rubicon. No crome here those are brown like the gas cover.I might make tail light covers for the m100

Well I got my 86 CJ7 back on the road. made some new improvemets
a Scout Dana 300 with twin stick. I made the rear axle shifter longer by 4"
so I could grab it better. Now with I back up my M100 I put the rear axle shifter in 2 low.
