Hey Everyone,
I've been a member on here for a while now. I have a '01 WJ v8 with a claytons 6" lift on it. Only other things it really has is tint, intake and exhaust. It is my daily driver. It gets me all over the bay area & to tahoe. I goto tahoe pretty much every weekend over the snow season.

This past week I finally got some new tires (285/75/16 Toyo Open Country M/T's) because a "big" (for tahoes averages) snowstorm was coming in and i was on bald 32" A/Ts. Tahoe ended up getting over 7 feet of snow over 3-4 days. Ss I thought i would post of some pics of the jeep in the snow. I will get some regular ones soon.

Also, want to throw out a big thank you to AprilzWarrior/Jared for all the help. He's installed and fixed basically everything on my jeep. If you live in or near the bay area he's the guy to goto. If its wasnt for him I would of gave up on the jeep and would of been driving a practical sedan or something.

i got spoiled when my grandfather remodeled his house up there. I've done my fair share of shoveling when i was a kid at the house though.

brendan,

I live in the east bay, fremont and drive to Reno/tahoe a lot... Let me know when you are going. You need to show me these snow trails. When I go its usually just the drive there and to board and drive back, no venturing on the snow. Nice jeep.

Marc, you know... "mi casa, es su casa" anytime you'd like to roll up... your welcome. Just give me a call.

after spending almost 1,300 on tires i decided to wait a while before i go serious snow or mud drifting. However, i did get a few little ones in.

victory,
dont know if you were up last weekend or not. But those arent "trails" they are residential roads. We were getting mass amounts of snow quickly. So even when they plowed the roads we got another 1-2 feet rather quickly.

Actually for marc's reference. Those are the exact same streets i played on when you were up there. Just more snow.

I go up pretty much every weekend.

Heated driveways!!!?? Holly hell. If you can make it down the roads...I would imagine you can make it out of your driveway!

Might be nice and all but I would imagine that would be one expensive luxury item.

jeep rides great. Only things I would say is it eats up Steering stabilizers (because i dont get allignments very often), and it sqeaks (because i dont grease very much). Which i cant really complain about because its owner laziness.

toyos are amazing! but expensive. About the same highway noise as my old Bridgestone REVO 32"s. A little bit of hum/mild vib in the steering wheel at like 0-20mph but really really minor. Got me through a lot of the white stuff really easy, i felt it did pretty good on ice too. Havent messed around in the mud, dirt, or rocks yet.

Wet/Dry Road = Two Thumbs up
Snow = Two Thumbs up
Ice = 1.5 thumbs (if thats possible)

Okay so heres the deal with the heated driveways. The house in tahoe belongs to my grandfather. And all though he is a tank (75 years old and still building houses from the ground up). I think he got tired of shoveling snow. So he installed heated driveways. Considering the benifits i dont find the inital price of the driveway system to be shocking (for just parts we installed it ourselves). The electricty/gas bill on the other hand... "holy hell". Its basically just tubes that go under your driveway with hot water in them. So imagine your water heater on 24/7 for 4 months out of the year.

Upsides: No more shoveling
Downsides: If the power goes out the driveway shuts off and will not turn back on until its reset by hand. So my grandfather who wakes up at 6am turns it on. I wake up at 7:30 to go snowboarding and what do you know the driveway turned the nights snow into ice. The driveway is at a fairly steep angle and even with brand new 32" A/Ts with low psi, 4-lo crawling slowly, kitty litter/ice salt, etc. its a pain in the butt.
