I get bored with how my rig is if I dont change something every 5 minutes

I mean, why leave something alone that works

That's kind of...how should I say it? Fucking retarded! I guessing you were trying to be a smart ass when you said it vs but try to use some common sense in the matter as well.

If something works...it works. Just b/c the other guy needs 60's, 70's, mogs etc...doesn't mean everyone does. Sure, I'll probably run something along the lines one day but I know that's in the future and I'm not trying to build my current axles plus the ones I'm hoping to run 6 months from now.

Your boy with the x. I don't know Pat so I'm not saying he's a piece of shit but this is his second "real" wheelin trip. Both to Crozet and I bet he was suckin seat the entire time. I know I was on my second trip out and I wasn't wheeling some of the shit he is. His rig is 100x more capable than mine was too.

Long story short...keep wheeling and building and be happy with what you have now and not what you don't have. Keep getting experience and make Pat get more experience before he keeps waisting money. Save the money for a rainy day!

Very nice pics!! I gotta get down there sometime this year. Those trails look pretty sick! Are those the "blacks"?

I like to challenge my rig and my skills first, then let that be the gauge for "going bigger". Otherwise, you have no pressure to improve your skills b/c the rig does it all for you. I guess you would learn as you go anyway, but it's a nice compliment when you can beat the trail with a slightly "underbuilt" rig.

What I don't understand is why people feel that they have to try to tell others what they need to do with their rig. From the looks of it Maxx is very good at just about all aspects of the sport from spending the money to doing the fab work I think some are just pissed he has a better and more capable rig than some. So all in all if he wants to run a Dana 30 8.8 this week and 1tons next week who gives a shit its his truck. Hell maybe in the future Rocks on are the build plans I know thats how thing progress with my projects.

Good pics. Looked like a lot of fun. Not getting into the "build your rig by how much experience you have" debate. Yall have fun with that.

I don't think it's so far fetched to see a diesel in a JK. Jeep IS currently building diesel JKs for military use (called a J8), These have some different axles as well, (dana 44 front/ dana 60 rear if I recall). Not to mention reinforced frame and rear leaf springs. Only problem is that these military JKs are getting built in Egypt....and we're not likely to see any here soon. I'm not sure even the US military is going to get them; more likely our allies in the gulf. But it's great to see they're getting the technology all sorted. Check out the brief article in the Feb. 08 Petersen's 4 Wheel & Offroad.

What I want, is a JK with not only the diesel, but factory equipped with the 60 rear.

Hey they could very well put a diesel in that Wrangler after all the new Jeep Grand got one and hey if they don't well I will just have to buy one from AEV. People keep pushing AEV to do it even though their prototype Liberty Diesel in a TJ was reported to be a very tough swap.

There are diesel JKs in Europe with the old Libby CRD. However Europe as had diesel vehicles for years, they like them and are use to them.

North America on the other hand? not many people have a diesel vehicle, while some cars come with them, they aren't as popular. Jeep won't make it if it won't sell.
I'd love to see a diesel JK but I won't hold my breath. I'd rather swap a 4BT into my ZJ and call it done.

For 2009/10, Cummins is coming out with a 4.2L V6 Diesel. This engine will find its way into many Chrysler midsize trucks and SUVs, probably including the JK.

Nice Pics.
