I am going back and forth on whether to buy this FSJ Cherokee. From the pictures, what would you give someone for it?

I have no idea what they go for but it looks like that one has been sitting there a while. I'm also partial to the 4 door ones. do you know if it even runs? I dunno $500?

for its age the interior is really nice... it all depends on what you plan on doing to it. for wheelin i wouldn't go nuts. It looks like a good restore car though. $500 is a good start. What does the owner want for it?

What would your plans be? The Jeep looks well worn but like it was taken care of. Pretty impressed by the interior. Not bad for an older vehicle. I would say it's worth $500-800 running, but I have no idea what these Jeeps are worth near you.

The spray-painted spare is an extra $10, though!

If the frame and running gear is in good nick, I'd probably go up to $1200-1500. A lot goes into it, though. Does it have 80k or 210k miles? Rust? Hell, lowball the guy, maybe he just wants to unload it. What's in it, 360/727?

I'm cheap when it comes to old vehicles and besides it's a Jeep so it's not worth shit in my eyes anyhow.
$500.

$500. Seems to be the popular vote.

I would do $200 or $300.It looks like it is a 360/TH400/BW1339 Quadratrac T-Case D44 front and rear with the rear offset. It looks pretty solid though.Let us know if it runs or not.

A burned out Honda costs $200. If it is running I would pay up to $1300 or so. $500ish if not.

that thing is wicked cool, if it runs and is not rotted out i would go to 1500 on it.

$500 like everyone was guessing. I'm impressed. If he said anywhere near $1000 i would say "get out", because lets face it, i'm not really gonna drive this thing everyday with a carbed 360. I'd be out of my mind. I waste enough money driving around all happy in my 318 ZJ.

I'm pretty sure the Cherokees were all 2 doors. It's the Wagoneers that came in 4 door

Always had a soft spot for those things. If it's running/near running condition, and the east coast rust hasn't eaten it alive, $500 is a steal

The Full size Cherokee's and Grand wagoneers are cheap around here.I bought 2,1 running and the other needed a transmission for $450 .Guess it all depends on the location

yeah location does end up mattering but in the end the desire is more important.

You could probably fetch close to 3k if you sold it to the right buyer in CO.

Nice find!

Any were from $500-$1000 I know is some places here in Michigan the 2 doors are the more treasured of the 2 and hard to find. Even though it looks to have sat for awhile it loos to be in good shape. Being that it is a pass drop it's early 70's or older so it might even have a 401 in it.....

Here the scrap value alone will be in the 200 - 300 range. $500 whould be a good starting point but don't be surprised if jumps up to $1000 plus. If it sorta runs I would say 1000 to 1500 if it doesn't 800 to a 1000. Though as stated above if you find the right collector you could get in the 2000 to 3000 range. I forget the web site but if you go on it all they do is buy those old things. I saw a post JU were the guy picked up a mint one for 4000 from a old lady and resold it for 18000 or so on the web site. Do a search under the JU zj forum and that post should come up.

I saw the title and remembered it had a date of sometime in the 1980's so its not 70's era. The engine s 360ci, i saw it for myself and have a Grand Wagoneer already with the same engine. It runs and the guy got it through a deal where some guy owed him for an engine ($500) and so he received the Cherokee as payment. He wants to just get rid of it and he said i'm welcome to fire it up and drive it around before i buy it. Its a group of retired police officers that own the building its in front of and they are a very nice group of guys. They often build 30's and 40's era hotrods from this shop and know a friend of my dad's. I told a guy on a local board about it since i really don't think i need another project and decided to pass the good deal along. These things aren't desired much around my area so its not really worth it to me. The most i could do with it is throw the axles under my CJ-7 project, sell the engine, and scrap the body. Now that is just not in my Jeep loving heart to do. So i gave another Jeep lover a shot at it.

Has to be a 70's. They switched the front diff to drivers drop in 1980 and the rear diff to the AMC 20 at the same time before going back to the rear 44 in 87 or so.

Go here...

They will tell you exactly what it is.

Done up right(rear air bags and some engine mods) it would be a nice tow rig....
