I wasn’t planning on selling this but I ran into a deal I couldn’t pass up so I need to make room for the new rig.

I just got back from a 5 day 800 mile (220+ on dirt) remote expedition, so this rig is ready to go wheelin. I'm about to be overly thorough so hold on....

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
Exterior: Black—Paint is fading, peeling, with misc scratches and dents. Rockers are dented pretty good on the drivers side. All windows are tinted.

Interior: Grey—carpet is coming up in spots, has some stains. Seats don’t have any tears but they are well used—lots of dirt and what not over the years. Power seats, windows, locks, mirrors--all working.
Stereo: Kenwood CD player. Pioneer speakers. Nothing special.

Drivetrain. 4.0 inline six. ~127,400 miles
-Gibson Headers
-full 2.5” exhaust from headers back
-Car Sound free flow cat
-Dynaflow ‘bullet’ style muffler (to clear 4 link)
-custom bent to clear rear suspension
-open element air filter.
New in last year: PCV valve, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, CPS sensor
New in last 2 months: HD 2 core all metal radiator, thermostat, fan clutch
~Auto tranny (shifts just fine)
~Swapped to a 231 t-case from an XJ. Stock gears and it’s still slip yoke.

Axles
Front. Dana 30, low pinion, 4.56 gears, open diff, CV shafts

Rear: Ford 8.8, 4.56 gears, lock right, spacers (to match front width), 31 spline shafts, converted from drum to disk brakes, HD diff cover, HD truss, lower shock mounts relocated for increased ground clearance.

Suspension (all professionally done Spring of 07)
Approximately 5.5” lift, longs arms.

Front: “Y” arm style radius arms. Lowers are built by Teraflex with their large cartridge joints on both ends. Uppers are Rubicon Express adjustable uppers. Center limiting strap and Bilstein 5100 shocks (digressive valving for coil springs). RE Adjustable tracbar and Tera disconnects, stainless brake lines. I think the springs are Rancho 4”s with a spacer on top.

Rear: Triangulated 4 link (no more tracbar), using Tera lower arms and cartridge joints (same as front lowers). Uppers are custom using Summit Flex joints at the axle and Tera cartridge joints at the frame. Teraflex shocks, post extensions (keeps springs from falling out). I don’t know what brand the rear springs are.

Other:
~ARB front bumper with Hella driving lights. I re-wired the lights but never mounted the switch.
~Tires: 35x12.5 r 15 Maxxis Bighorns on silver wheels (unsure brand but the offset is perfect and they look good). 85% tread, but the majority of the use was off-road so there are some cuts, chunks, etc consistent with normal off-road wear and tear. No plugs. (Note: if this doesn’t sell quickly I may put some worn MTR”s on and lower the price a bit)
~AC and heater both work
~tow package

The bad.
~It’s not pretty—it’s seen some good trail use but is in pretty good shape considering. No major mechanical issues that I know of (just got back from very long trip and had zero problems).
~ Rear main leaks just like every other 4.0 on the planet.
~No parking brake. I have the part to adapt it just haven’t installed it.
~No skids. I have a factory t-case skid I can include but I don’t’ have hardware for it. The receiver has always protected the gas tank and the factory engine skid is completely useless.
~Wiring—the previous owners had cut some corners wiring things. I’ve gone through and re-wired pretty much everything he touched, but I haven’t gone through and pulled all the old crap out. Basically, there are a couple wires you may run into that do nothing and just need to be yanked out.

The Good
This is my 3rd ZJ and I used everything I learned from the previous three in building this.
This rig works really well. It’s very well balanced, very stable. This is a low buck trail rig that can do pretty much any 4+ trail in Moab and drive home. It's a sleeper--works way better than anyone expects it to.

I’ve put close to $3000 into this rig in the 18 months I’ve owned it and I finally got it to the point where I was happy with how it works—but I’m a glutton for punishment so I’m jumping into something else. I rarely drove it other than to and from a trail. It’s perfectly road friendly, although it tops out at 60-70 mph depending on slope/wind/weight/mood. It pulls Soldier Summit at 50mph.

I still have a list of things I was going to do to it, so I’m more than happy to go over the things I think should be done and what not.

Let me know questions.
