Hi, I swapped in a 360 and a 5 speed into my Grand Cherokee, it came with a 318 and the auto, it seems to be knocking from lack of fuel, what can I do to fix this? Is anyone doing custom memcals for these?

Did you put in the 360 ECM? Lack of fuel, the injectors are the same size as the 318 if i'm remembering right, but the duty cycle would be longer. What components from the 318 did you leave in it?

If its an actual "knock", be careful driving it. A lean mixture burns hotter causing pre-detonation. The cylinder gets so hot that it ignites the mixture before the piston hits TDC and can destroy an engine in no time flat. Not to mention you could burn a hole right through the piston.

What makes you think its running lean? Are you getting a CEL for your upstream O2's?

Have you checked your timing?

Can I put a 360 ECM in it? How and which ECM could I plug in to my 318 harness?

The only 318 parts are the sensors etc, but they should be the same?

I only thing its running lean because I'm not sure what else it could be, and it seems likely since its a bigger engine. I think other people have done this swap though and haven't had to change anything.

what exactly is CEL, it has something to do with o2 sensor?
