That motor is crap. Even the turbo version of it I don't like although it isn't completely inept with the turbo.

It "might" have a 60. Double check before you trust some yokle's word.

Here is more info for reference people

Very interesting thought.

For the most part, Cody is dead on.

Right now I am DDing and towing with a '95 6.5TD Chevy 2500. Chevy followed its gutless 6.2 with the 6.5; neither are anything to write home about. My truck already has an nv4500, HD241, and 14 bolt, so with the bed removed, some tubework on the rear section of the frame and around the cab, and a 60 front, it could make a cool rock rig.

The crawl on it is already somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-80:1.. too tempting..

go post this on pirate much better chance someone has experience over there.

be sure to include the mis-matched tires and how the previous owner did it so you know it's right.

but really, POR is probably the only board you'll find someone with experience with that type of truck.

Those engines were junk as you have already heard. I posted up "over there"sayin that a Buick 350 will slide right in. Same bolt pattern on trans, and I beleive its a Buick 350 gas motor block that they were made out of.

That was GMs attempt at a diesel. The 6.2L diesel is a Detroit Diesel, a completely different animal. Some people love them, so don't. It's similar to the some people like diesels and some don't. I have one in my 84 Chevy CUCV truck. I like it a lot but the top speed is only about 55mph even with 35s.

The blazer chassis is very different from the truck chassis but I imagine you are getting an earful about that over on PBB. Oh, and how many lugs does that D60 have in the pics? I only counted six but the pics were a little hazy (or was that me).

Edit: Hard to tell but it looks like a 14BFF in the rear and a stock M1009 (blazer) axle in the frontl... interesting.

WTF??
I hope it has 2WD, because with a different of nearly 2 inches between the front and the rear axle, you will damage the transfer case :smt013

I been in the Military for 16 years and I remember the M1009 and the M1008. The M1009 Blazer never came with a D60/14 Bolt, its a half ton balzer and came with a 6 lug 10 bolt front and rear. The only thing that was really different between the Military K5's and the Civilian's K5 was the Military one came with a TH400/NP208 combo. Also on the pictures, ask him for new ones asap. The reason why is because if you look on the last picture you can see he took the picture from one that was on his monitor. That is why they look like a$$, so I would be really suspicious if it even still looks like that.

Green Mountain ZJ is right, once you got the K5 6.2 about 65mph you blew oil out the exhaust. There is all kinds of write-ups on pirate and coloradok5 about how to get better performance out of the 6.2 and it will not hurt your bank account. If you have any questions about the CUCV or about the K5 in general let me know. I had one for 4 years and still have alot of friends that have them.
