Or how about a M&G where we drink beer and bitch about Jeeps?

Wheeling or drinking... either works. :)

I'm not 21 but either works for me if any of you are in the Fort Collins area and ever want to hang hit me up. I need to meet some fellow zj owners that actually look like they can take it off road ;).

It looks like we've got owners from Fort Collins down to Colorado Springs plus some on the western slope. Would Denver proper work for a M&G? I look forward to meeting some local ZJ owners to pick up some new tricks.

Hows 'bout we have a M&G in my garage and you can all help me fix all my broken crap?

Ted_Z

I'll bring some beer and a BFH.

BigDaveZJ

I'll bring some beer and a BFH.

I got plenty of both of those . . . lol

Our vehicular to-do list is quite extensive at this point.

My ZJ
-fix tranny to t-case seal
-new shocks
-fab new t-case skid
-change oil
-change tranny fluid
-weld cross pin to carrier in front diff
-new front diff gear oil
-shorten front driveshaft
-lengthen front LCA's to clear 35's without enough lift
-add/remove hockey pucks as need to clear 35's
-find one more 35 to complete full set

Pam's ZJ
-rear brake job
-change oil
-needs new tires soon, so that means more lift to clear bigger tires . . .
-fix a/c
-replace heater core

My Truck
-change oil
-replace bad relay for dome lights that's draining my batteries uber fast
-possibly replace batt's if they're now dead from being drained too much
-if the relay isn't the problem, track down electrical gremlin

Yay.

Maybe you should bring some beer, a bfh, 3 gas cans and 3 matches . . . .

At least my trailer is in good shape . . .

I think we should have the meet and greet at my house on Saturday the 18th bright and early. That way you all can help me move.

Well i dk about a M&G in Denver. My zj doesn't like the highway and i couldn't imagine driving all the way to Denver. What trails do people want to do? I'm up for really anything, just nothing too hardcore.

Ted_Z

I-fix tranny to t-case seal
I just did this a couple months ago, no biggie. PN 4269956 for the seal.

replace bad relay for dome lights that's draining my batteries uber fast I had the same problem in my ZJ, turned out to be the switch behind the driver's door key cylinder. When you turn the key it tell the BCM to turn off the alarm and turn on the dome light. It was busted in the on position so the dome light never went off.

I'd love to hit some trails up again. I orgainzed a similar trail run with a few grands last summer and did Moody/Crystal, which turned out pretty well except it got kinda dark so we didn't finish all of Crystal. I later found out that Crystal gets pretty badass near the top.

I agree with running Kelly Flats- it isn't the most hardcore but there are some fun spots and would be a good place to take a decent sized group. With a little advance notice, I'd be down for any weekend.

Sounds like you guys up North will go wheeling, and the folks here in the Denver area will work on our busted chit and drink beer. So Aug the 25th it is. :D

SuicideTireZJ

I can do that if we go early enough, I have to be back by about 4, so if we leave at like 9 we should be good. Keep me posted

bigboy

sounds like a good time! Let me know when you guys decide to head a little further south! ;) By the way wasnt it a good idea for my first post to be on a trail run thread.

Eagle Rock would be a fun "group" trail to hit.

07-29-2007, 11:56 PM
I'd like to do a Front Range M&G, but right now with the job change any free weekends that I'm over there is going to be spent working on getting my axles upgraded and swapped when my brother has some free time...

Besides I have a couple of trips down in the San Juans later this summer and fall as well as some salmon to catch and a pre-run to do the East side of the Colorado River/Lake Powell Hole-in-the-Rock trail before I lead my Jeep club on it in October.

I'm pretty sure we're gonna meet at 9 in Fort Collins somewhere (I'm guessing maybe rho95zj's house... he'll let us know) and then go out to Kelly Flats. I was thinking of probably going up the night before so I don't have to leave here at 6 in the morning! I figured on either camping or doing a real cheap (29.99) hotel. But I hope to go up Friday the 24th in the evening. I'm also trying to contact a guy in the springs to go w/ us, too, but haven't heard back from him yet.

Kelly Flats campground is right across the street from the trail head. I'm not sure if you can make reservations at that site though.

When we do trail runs we usually meet in the parking lot for Moby Arena at CSU, it's big and easy to find. That's probably the best and most central place to meet.

You might want to consider extending the rear spring post while you're in there. w/ a 2" BB, it will be right at the edge. You can get a 2 foot long piece of exhuast piping and cut it to the proper length. Someone used 4.0 exhaust pipe and it fit perfectly - it's probably about 2 1/4" tube. If you have the spring spacers, you could take them somewhere and just slide them over a few exhaust pipes till one fits just right. Use self tapping screws to go through the post. The posts are thick so you might want to drill a pilot hole first to help the screw go through.

As for the meeting place, are you guys for sure meeting at Moby Arena at CSU?

I tried using a machine screw with mine and couldn't get the spacer over the head - copious amounts of RTV are holding my extensions up beautifully.

One More Week!!! So... who's down for camping? I think I'm leaving Pueblo at about 3 or 4 on Friday and meeting a guy in the springs around 4 or 5. We'll be caravaning through Denver around 6, maybe 7 at the latest and hopefully snagging another on the way, and getting to Ft. Collins around 7 or 8 at the latest. Anyone wanting to cruise w/ us up there, pm me your cell numbers so we can coordinate.

Ted - what's the earliest you can leave? I was planning on being in denver around 5 or 6 b/c dwcustoms wasn't gonna be able to leave springs until 4, but he's out now, so I can be up there pretty much anytime in the afternoon and we can get up to rhoZJ95's (Wade's) house earlier and get to camping b4 sunset! Are you the only one from denver? Lemme know what time to meet you in denver and where.

Ted_Z
08-23-2007, 11:40 AM
If I get all packed up tonight, I could leave directly from work ~4pm. My work is on the south west side of Denver (wadsworth and 285/hampton). I figure we sould rally someplace along I-25 at 4:30 or 5pm. I'm thinking on the north side of Denver would be easiest because of traffic issues. I'm trying to think of an easy landmark in Thorton just off the highway.

08-23-2007, 01:57 PM
Not too familiar w/ what's up there. There a loaf-n-jug right off any exits up there? Pick an exit and I'll be there.

Ted_Z
08-23-2007, 06:46 PM
I couldn't find a LoafnJug so lets rally at the 7-Eleven at 88th and I-25. After that we can head to Wade's place or directly to the campsite. The directions in the link below are reasonably good. Lets shoot for 5pm.
