View Full Version : Project ARMY OF IMMORTALS

So, a few weeks ago, i got my 5.9 with 80.000 miles on!
The preowner hit a rail on the driver side, as you can see in the second picture (it looks on the picture better than in real, because the pre owner does not repair the damage on the fender and in the rear, so all the rust came out now :screwy: )
But hey, it was cheaper and the 5.9 is very rare in Germany!;) ;)
(But when i have more time and money, then he becomes a complete new paint)

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514928.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514931.jpg

The first modifcation was repaiting the grill in black and put some clear corners on:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514938.jpg

And with the help of this:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514946.jpg

This came out:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514948.jpg

Next, the 4" Lift
-3,5" XJ fromRubicon Express +1" Spacer
-Trailmaster extend Swaybarlinks
-Trailmaster by maas Shocks for 6" Lift (Trailmaster by maas is a own european product and has nothing to do with Trailmaster US)
-UC Front Coils in the rear, they give me a bit over 4"
-OME SS
Nothing on the Controlarms or Trackbars yet :screwy: :screwy: ( but im waiting of 4 LCA and 2 adujustable TB from RE, i hope they comes in the next 2 weeks from the USA)

Here is a pic with stock 28" XJ tires/rims:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514965.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514966.jpg

And now with BFG MT 33x10.5 on 8x15" Eagle Alloys Series 058 Offset -30 and 3 1/2 BS!

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514973.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514975.jpg

Itīs impossible to drive it without trimming, so i put the Airsaw out :D :D

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514985.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514989.jpg
In the rear itīs possible with a few trimming on the inside (but thatīs work, why i have the OEM LCA, with the new (longer) RE LCA they will rub in the rear, but ok, thatīs no problem for the airsaw  )
But for now, itīs ok so

I think, the front fenders looks good now, but when i get some wider (12,5") tires in the next years, i will choose the XJ Bushwacker Cutout flares to cover the tire)

And some flexing (nothing special, just only a bit testing for rubbing)

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514992.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514994.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514995.jpg
And the last two mods:

-K&N FIPK Gen 2:
http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/514998.jpg

-H4 Bi-Xenon 6500K (it looks a bit blue in the picture, but that comes from the cam, itīs icewhite in real). The headlights are with glass housing;)
http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/515001.jpg

And if someone asked, why my build up called "Army of Immortals", because iīm a big fan of:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/515002.jpg

And the sticker says all :D ;) :D
http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/515003.jpg

If you have any questions or critics, just say me, what you think

I will let you know, if i have some news or mods done!

Looking good you just need to ditch the K&N Filter for the new Amsoil EAAU filter (it is a direct replacement and does not require oiling).

Hello,
those are Hella DE HID Lights:

http://www.bil.ru/catalog/hella/jpegs/micro_x.jpg

But, they are shit
Bescause, just after a few days (and they are brand new), the plastic mounting was broken  (i donīt hit anything :smt091 ).So, i send the light back to the dealer!

@Frogger
Nearly, itīs a mix of a Great Dane and St. Bernard!;)

What kind of headlight upgrade is that?(meaning the glass lens.)

Strada
07-19-2007, 05:02 AM
Hello,
thatīs not a real upgrade, because alle GC in the europain edition have glass lenses, so i donīt have the problem with yellow lenses after some years and another advantage is, that the illumination is much better with glass lenses!

I have the E-codes on both of my Grands - one has the Narva Rangepower High Efficacy Plus 30 bulbs, the other has the Plus 50 bulbs. Well worth it, IMO. Just be aware that nobody that sells those lenses have the H4 dust boots - those will have to be procured elsewhere. I opted to get just the lenses and sourced Hella HD H4 plugs, relays, dust boots and bulbs from Stern Lighting.

What i forgot yesterday, was one of the first modification, the rear Hella HID lights, as reverse lights:

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/516060.jpg

They are Hella DE Micro HID (fog):

http://www.kartek.com/prod-windows/all/lights/fog/hel-74522.jpg

The "build in" was very simple, i made only a frame for the 2 lights and weld it on the rear Bumper (the metall bumper under the plastic one, i mean) and then i cut 2 holes in the bumper and all was done!
Itīs very decent, because they look only 1" out of the bumper, but they make with help of the HID a awesome light!

WTF 700$ Dollar???
They cost between 400 and 450 dollar brand new in Germany, got my for 200$ from a good friend, they are used, but in very good conditions!
I would never pay the 700$ for 2 reverse lights too

Edit:
If somone intressted, here you can get the Lights for 350€, that are nearly 450$, brand new!
And the guy will shipp it worldwide

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/522911.jpg

http://jeep.cfasp.de/upload/522919.jpg

But i trimmed to less in the rear, so when i got my new LCA, i cut the plastic and a bit of the metall)

But has anyone tried the Airflow snorkel from the XJ:

On the pic, it looks, like it will works on the ZJ, but there is one problem, because the wide of the hood and the roof is nearly the same on the XJ, but on the ZJ, is the roof much smaller, so i think there is then to much room from the snorkel to the roof!

Iīd buy this universal grill insert:

I choose the 35x15 Version (but in powercoated black), itīs very strong, so i think itīs a very good protection for the radiator and offers a very good flow!:smt002

No yet, but when they are the next time in germany :smt077

what did you use to fill the holes of hte grille after cutting
At first, you have to glue (2 piece glue/very strong) a ABS plastic plate on the rear of each hole, that you can fill it, because without, it would fall out of the hole (i hope you understand what i mean)
And what i use is a 2 piece filer, like that:
