FINALLY! For those who aren't familiar with us, AJ's Offroad Armor has been building custom bumpers and rockrails for the Cherokees the last 7 years. Our products are shipped worldwide and proven on trails all over this country. I've wanted to dive into the market for some 93-98 ZJ products but have just been slammed with orders on the XJ gear that it's never happened...until now. Finally got some good help in the shop and we're finalizing the new jig and gearing up for production.

The rockrails will feature the share the same design as our XJ rails which you can check out here... http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/Rockrails/rockrails.html (http://www.ajsoffroadarmor.com/Rockrails/rockrails.html)
I'll post up some pics of a set of ZJ SuperRails before this weekend both on the ZJ and off for your viewing pleasure.:D

We'll be doing a group buy on these until the end of July and have them ready to ship out within the first week of August. Group Buy pricing is as follows...
3/16" Standard Rockrails.......$205.........$175
3/16" SuperRails............$255..............$225
3/16" SuperSquare Rails....$275............$245Email me at aj@ajsoffroadarmor.com or call me at 563-924-2286 to reserve your set. :best:

Spy photos from today, keep in mind these are just mocked up into place as we were doing some tweaks/adjustments to our jig today. We tucked in the rails a little bit more so that when we build the SuperRails, it keeps that outer tube closer to the bodyline. I'll have some good pics of the rails off the ZJ tomorrow and final test fitting pics early next week. (much better quality pics)

SuperRails. One thing people have asked in the past with the XJ SuperRails is why I put the outside tube flat and there are several reasons why. #1 is protection. It gives you a good pivot point around an obstacle such as a stump or rock. But it also is the first thing to hit when you're getting your rig a little tipsy or laying it on it's side.

They function great as a step which can be a good selling point for your significant other.

:-)

Alright, I've resisted for as long as I can possibly resist, lol. I really like that design. It looks like it's really well-thought out and really, really looks similar to something I've seen around on other ZJs. In fact, it reminds me EXACTLY of something that some other company has been building for what...six, seven years now? If your goal is to be a respected aftermarket manufacturer, you will probably want to check out what the competition is doing and then "one-up" them by IMPROVING on their design. Likewise, if your goal is to benefit the Jeep community by designing something that never existed previously, I think you might not have achieved what you set out for. Believe you me...I know exactly what these things cost (dollars and time) to make, and I know you're just barely covering your cost (assuming the typical backyard labor rate of $5/hour, lol) by selling them at $225. I'm sure you're a sharp guy...and your fab knowledge appears to be good, so I have faith that you can most CERTAINLY come up with something that's an improvement over what already exists, that you can sell for a FAR greater profit, because no one else in the aftermarket ever thought of doing it "you way" (your design). No, I'm not going to call my lawyer and go the path of a villain...this post is designed purely to encourage your creativity in your design process and come up with something even BETTER that what exists in the market today. Call me or e-mail me if you want to talk about this, AJ...as there is no direct offense meant. I'm an extremely reasonable guy, as many will probably attest to.

Considering AJ's hasn't even logged onto this site in over 2 months, I don't think they're much competition for Kevin, even if they did try to undercut his pricing with an almost identical design. Plus the group buy is over and this thread has served its purpose and run its course.
