i know its not recomended but is it really that bad? i have a carport to weld in, but its not protected from the elements at all. i just dont have the room inside to bring large things in, nor do i feel safe welding in my basement with things that go boom

I do most of it outside or in the car shelter / tent; but wind can become a problem with gas.

Couldn't hurt, I usually drop the doors when I'm welding something important so the weld isn't corroded

what size did you get? was it big enough to allow you to work comfortably?

mine is 20x12x10' (door height), doors at both ends, it's from Shelter It. Buggy was built in it, so it's just roomy enough

A spare hood from a car makes a good shield from the wind as well.

How the hell are car tents illegal? What if your cars like to go camping? Are they just supposed to sleep outside? WTF!!!

I had to take apart the 231 in my apartment bathroom, tried to do it on the patio and management yelled at me. But then again, I do live in College Station and go to Texas A&M.

Ditto, however the new apartments that I'm moving into later this summer has a storage unit just big enough to fit the Jeep in... wonder where I'll be spending most of my time. :D

The biggest problem I find when welding with gas................

the potential to set your ass on fire.
