Hello,
i love the "Icelandic Way"
I have a half icelandic Mitsubishi, "half" because, he has a 7" ,lift with a lot of fender trimming, but for a real icelandic he has 2" to much lift and the fender flares are a little small, but it was custom build and itīs impossible to find the real flares in Germany:(

(38,5"x14.5"-16 Maxxis)

Hack the hell out of the fenders and post some picīs, when the project is ready to hit the snow!

Best Regards Basti

Hi guys,

I found a way with this axel swap. Iīm going to change the diff housing in my axels. Iīm going to use an d60 in the rear that as the same spline count and d44 in the front and change the inner axels... very easy and cheap...

the reason Iīm going to move the rear axel back 3-4 inches is that I will only lift the jeep 4" up for 38" tires. and there is not much to trim in front of the rear tires....

one question is there any possible to but manual hubs on this axel? please let my know..

and where is best to buy ring and pinion 4;88 and lockers (air arb lockers)

and and  have any of you changed the a/c compressor into an air pump ??

regards from Iceland

To fit 38" tires on a WJ with only 4" of lift you will have to remove the fenders completely

no they will still be there  and I will get 12.5" travel in the rear and around 10" in the front.....

I will be running a very simular setup as in me old zj..... except I was thinking about putting air under it in the rear instead of springs...
