Took the wife for a short run today up what I will call 119.
Its a tight hairy trail that i have never completed.
Got to the same place as i did before, where i slashed a side wall, only this time there was a tree in the way. Didnt bring a saw, and not sure im supposed to be up there till the 15th anyway, so it will have to wait for next time, again!
As usuall, i didnt snap any pics till the way back, and of course the pics never show how steep shit is. Here was one of the hairy parts where i put a few rocks around a tree and a stump to make sure i didnt get snagged. tires were spinnin good towards the top.

Nice pics, reminds me of wheeln back home, you ever run into any crazy pot farmers out in the middle of the woods and get a rifle pointed at you??? Good luck on your next trip out and get some more pics of the run, might want to bring a second vehicle too.

Hey wjguy and easymunny, did either of you have your Claytons stuff installed by John at Auburn Car Repair and Offroad? They did a dark blue WJ a while back and I was just wondering if I would run into the owner of that rig on the net.

I'm going out to look at a couple ZJs today. I don't think I'll keep mine like it is. It's really tweeked and here in Washington having the ability to shut the doors and roll up the windows is a big plus. It was like 34 deg. up at Evans and we got dumped on by rain and hail. I was in full rain gear and was still soaked and freezing. I want a good ZJ I can drive around and wheel without a trailer. If I want a buggy I'll build it from scratch.

Are you on crack Mike? :) I thought gettin another one and swapping the shit off of Horus to the new one was the plan?

I just had a lot of fun with what is now kinda like a glorified golf cart slappin it off tree roots and smashing sheetmetal all day. Should have another ZJ this week.

Horus
06-12-2007, 07:42 PM
Havn't even considered an I6 since finding out what the swap would take. Going to look at one in a couple hours and taking cash:D . The cheapest 5.9 i've found is $5500. The one I'm going to look at I could get for $3000. It's a 97 so my parts will swap over easy. Guess what color it is CentralGrand and GREENMachine:tease: . That is the difference of ProtoFab bumpers F@R and a good Warn winch (this IS part of the plan BTW). I hope it has the 44a rear.

x2 We need a Washington ZJ's BS thread.:smt032

it was over in liberty this past weekend I go there every year with my dad and a bunch a his hunting buddys every year around the 7th of june, I got the major dent in the drivers side rear door over by rollover hill next to the swamp, and the other was just off a trail by lookout where a tree fell across the road and had to wiggle my way between some trees, and the broken bumper in the rear was from the mud pit I am not sure the name of the trail but my dad and his buddys call it the short loop it comes out just past the look out trail head. and I would love to go with you guys sometime give me some notice I am self employed so getting some time is kinda tricky

How's it going?
I'm new up here in Washington, just PCS'd from Fort Hood to Fort Lewis. For those non military types thats the middle of texas to up here. Unfortunately my rig is still stock but I hope to be upgrading with a IRO Critical path 4" LA kit as soon as I can. What initial upgrades would you suggest for the trails up here, and where are there places to wheel?

I would spend your cash on one locker (to start), tow hooks, SLIDERS, and skids. As for places to wheel there is reider, evans creek, walker, moon rocks.....etc. I'm sure we will have a group run soon if we can set a date when were all not working :D . Oh and:welcome: :flipoff2:

welcome aboard, what do ya have zj-wj ? def- get one locker at least I did both at once but yet to have to use my arb def- need some sliders unless you dont like your rocker panels. oh and you can kiss that pretty paint job good bye I would think that everyone that wheels in washington has the same custom paint job.

yes, welcome thecool1, or around here i guess they say...eat shit.

good advise up there. I would start with a front locker. Get a trasfer case skid if you dont got one. I have managed to get away without rocker guards so far and no damage, but there's some places (evans) i am told they are needed. Dont buy rusty's hooks. Trim your front bumper and make your own rear.

welcome, all good advice, if your gonna wheel the west side - evens, walker, reiter you'll want sliders, the east side of the cascades is a little more open, prob can get around fine for a while w/out. A locker for sure. Oh i almost forgot, eat shit! WJGUY AND EZMUNY its nice to see a couple other skyscrapers jump in here, watch the curbs so you dont tip over.
